We love it!

It's a great all around car. Sporty, practical, and economical.

Pros

  • Fuel Economy: I like the engine programming switch, that lets you choose between normal, economy, and sport modes.
  • Ride and Handling: The car handles like a sports car, which was a surprise.

Cons

  • Technology and Entertainment: That programming switch ought to be on the steering wheel, not down at the bottom of the dash. And it is so distracting trying to access information from the car, I feel like I need a co-pilot.

Fun and Semi-practical

My daily commute, to and from work, is less than 15 miles. The Mini is fun to drive, has enough space for my immediate needs, and has styling that sets it apart from most other cars on the road.

Pros

  • Power: Electric power means immediate torque. This car is faster than my 2nd generation Mini Cooper S.
  • Ride and Handling: There is a nice balance between comfort and precision to the handling. I do wish I was able to have the Sport setting steering assist/feel with the Green economy setting.
  • Technology and Entertainment: Apple CarPlay is wonderful. It takes a few seconds to connect, but I love not using a USB cable to connect. The sound system is amazing, as well.

Cons

  • Fuel Economy: Small battery = relatively light weight = limited range. A full charge can only take me 90-110 miles, depending on weather, AC usage, etc. I charge the car every 3-4 days for about 30 minutes. It is my first electric vehicle, so I charge publicly; I have not yet made the commitment to installing a charger in my home.
