Latest generation Toyota Corolla Hatchback
The Corolla has been a hallmark of the Toyota lineup since it arrived in North America in 1968. While there have been hatchbacks offered over those 50-plus years, the most recent version arrived in 2019 at the start of its 12th generation. The Corolla Hatchback featured sporty styling and useful cargo space; however, its rear-seat legroom was considerably smaller than that of its sedan sibling. Toyota outfitted the Corolla Hatchback with an extensive standard feature list, including an eight-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay®, and the brand’s suite of driver aids. Android Auto™ was added in 2020, and wireless connection for both phone systems was added in 2023.
When the Corolla Hatchback came to market, it had a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine teamed with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The same engine is still the only powertrain option for the Corolla Hatchback, but the manual transmission was discontinued in 2023.
