Winning the trades

If you need a work vehicle, it’s hard to beat the utility of a full-size van. The 2020 GMC Savana offers the functional cargo capacity of a full-size pickup, but with a fully enclosed cargo area, protecting your valuable equipment from the elements. The V8 engine options deliver power to get to the job site, up muddy hills, or down a fast-moving highway. Modern tech features assist with the workload, like using the standard backup camera and traction control at a construction site, to the optional remote start and blind-spot monitor that make every workday easier. Activation with subscription may be required for some of these features.

5 reasons to buy the 2020 GMC Savana

1. Powerful engines

The GMC Savana can haul everything from mulch to cement, thanks to a range of stout engines. The new optional 2.8L has 181 horsepower, with 369 lb-ft of torque for heavy-duty work. The base 4.3L V6 makes 276 hp and 298 lb-ft. Turning it all the way up, the 6.0L V8 belts out 341 hp and 373 lb-ft. Look for the optional E-85 capability on this engine, for a huge savings per gallon.

2. Massive cargo space

Behind the driver’s seat, you’ll notice 283.6 cu-ft of cargo space. The optional spray-in bedliner or rubberized floors are more protective than the standard carpet, allowing you to use all this space as a mobile detail rig, plumber's tool supply, or welder's equipment storage. Need even more space? Look for the optional Savana Pro Package for smart storage bins that don’t take away from the flat load floor.

3. Solid tow rating

Work sometimes requires big equipment, more than can fit in the back of a van. If this happens, the 2020 GMC Savana still gets it done with a standard towing capacity that can handle a compact backhoe or crawler dozer. With the 2.8L turbo diesel four-cylinder, the 2020 GMC Savana has a maximum estimated towing capacity of 6,000 lbs, when properly equipped.

Need more? The 6.0L gas V8 Savana has a maximum estimated towing capacity of 10,000 lbs when properly equipped.

4. Modern amenities

The 2020 GMC Savana is a work rig, but one designed to keep you comfortable. The standard power seats adjust to any frame, with standard power windows, locks, and air conditioning to keep you cool. The standard vinyl interior is easy to clean, but the optional cloth seats are better for all-day comfort. Options include cruise control, Bluetooth® connectivity, navigation, and available satellite radio.

5. Built for work

You’ll appreciate the small details on the GMC Savana that make your work life easier. The rear cargo doors both open 165 degrees to reveal a large cargo area with a low floor for easy loading. The standard 31-gallon fuel tank means you can drive all day without wasting time filling up. When towing through hills and mountains, the automatic transmission downshifts with a tap, and the standard auto-grade braking uses engine compression to slow the van on long steep descents.
