  I feel obligated to have all service done at the local BMW dealership. Even oil changes.

  Transmission has 8 gears. Takes some getting used to. Best for Comfort mode. If you want sportier driving, change to Sport mode for better results.

  Hard top convertible is very well designed. Still have enough room in the trunk to fit luggage and golf clubs.

  Not overly done. Cars are becoming very complicated but the controls are easy to learn and where you expect them to be.

  Handling is great, but the ride can be stiff even in comfort drive selected

  BMW underrated their engines. With a 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, you have well beyond 300hp on tap.

  BMW is known for their 50-50 weight distribution that makes for excellent handling in the corners.

• Cargo Space

  The Gran Coupe has a lift back instead of a truck, which is much more versatile for cargo storage.

  German cars are more expensive to maintain, get a CarMax warranty.

  You won't get the EPA quoted MPG because it's too addictive to floor it.
