Ride and Handling
It is so fun to drive, especially around town.
Technology and Entertainment
adaptive cruise is clutch. makes commuting in traffic a little easier. CarPlay is super convenient.
Power
plenty of torque on demand but it’s a little gutless trying to pass at freeway speeds.
Cost to Maintain
Fully electric, not as many parts to break. No gas! Cheap to charge at home on regular 110-volt plug.
Interior Space
Tons of leg room for front seat. Really decent amount of room in back seat.
Power
Instant go/torque. Really zippy and fun to drive around town. Love the way it looks too. Doesn't look like a quirky electric car. Looks just like a regular VW Golf.
Cargo Space
Not a super huge trunk/hatchback space. But there's a ski pass-through slot and also a 60/40 seat split, so it does create a lot of room when flat.
Weather Versatility
From what I've heard, the range decreases a lot in colder weather. I live in Vegas, so it's usually warmer. Using it in summer requires A/C for sure, and you lose range using A/C a lot.
Cargo Space
More upright than sloping hatch provides more storage than the competition. Rear seats fold nearly flat.
Fuel Economy
According to the internet, EVs typically get about 3.5 miles per kWh. I average 4.6 in the Golf Electric.
Ride and Handling
Does not feel over-damped. Suspension controls wheel transients very well.
Technology and Entertainment
As touch screens go, this is not the worst I have seen, but I’m not a fan of touch screens in cars.
Braking
Electric brakes are easy to modulate, and transition from electric to mechanical braking is fairly seamless, but just prior to coming to a complete stop, the braking level increases with no change in peddle pressure, as if the car doesn’t fully trust the driver.
