practical car

it is everything our family wanted. comfortable for long distance road trips, does well driving through mountains and is great in the snow.

Pros

  • Power: great power for its size.
  • Technology and Entertainment: love the eyesight technology. apparently not many people in Arizona know what cruise control is, the variable cruise control really helps maintaining gaps between cars even though they don’t know how to maintain speed
  • Ride and Handling: very comfortable for long distance trips.

Cons

  • Interior Space: once the third row seats are being used there isn’t much cargo space. we had to invest in a rooftop cargo carrier to fit everything we needed with a full car of passengers.
  • Cabin Noise: not exactly cabin noise but their is an annoying vibration sound with the eyesight module and module cover. we solved it with inserting a felt pad between the two. not sure why Subaru hasn’t figured this out by now or at least recalled it.
  • Cost to Maintain: drivers cooled seat fan is already going out and it has less than 30k miles. it won’t be covered by warranty and it isn’t cheap to fix. do better Subaru.

Drives like a luxury car!

The Ascent handles well and has a really smooth ride. After driving the same car for the past 16 years it is quite an upgrade. I like the push button start. The hands free calling is great - especial...
