The performance version of Audi’s compact luxury sedan has been refreshed for 2017 and the now includes Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ connectivity. What hasn't changed is the turbocharged engine’s rapid performance and the all-wheel-drive system that give the 2017 Audi S3 its fun driving characteristics.
1. Turbocharged engine
The 2017 Audi S3 has a 2.0L turbocharged engine that delivers 292 hp for really powerful performance. The 280 lb-ft of torque helps it get from zero to 60 in a claimed 4.7 seconds, meaning it's great for effortless highway cruising or for driving to the office. The six-speed S tronic® dual-clutch transmission is smooth with quick shifts, and for those times when you want to enjoy the drive, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters let you take control.
2. Balanced performance
As powerful as the engine of the 2017 Audi S3 may be, it’s also relatively thrifty given the amount of get-up-and-go it offers. The 2.0L engine gets an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 24 mpg combined with the standard 18-inch wheels.
3. All-wheel drive assurance
The 2017 Audi S3 has Audi’s celebrated quattro® all-wheel drive system for extra confidence when you’re carving through the canyons. Better traction and more grip on dry as well as wet road surfaces means you can focus more on the driving experience. Engaging and agile, with excellent handling and a planted-to-the-road feel, the Audi S3 is fun to drive and responsive. The available adaptive suspension system allows you to tailor the driving experience for even more engagement.
4. Sharp looks
Refreshed for 2017, the exterior appearance of the Audi S3 has been sharpened up with new headlights, front and rear fascias, and a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels. The overall styling remains subtle and the 2017 Audi S3 doesn’t draw attention to its potential performance. The clues are there, with the aluminum-optic side mirrors, four exhaust pipe outlets with chrome finishers, and trunk lid spoiler all lending a discreet air.
5. Up-to-date technology
A compact car it may be but the 2017 Audi S3 is packed with big car technology. Full LED headlights and taillights are standard, along with rear dynamic turn signals. Inside, there is a color driver information system and the new-for-2017 Audi virtual cockpit driver’s panel with a large 12.3-inch display. Standard on Prestige and available as part of the Technology package on Premium Plus models, it’s sharp and can show Google Map images supported with available 4G LTE mobile Wi-Fi. Standard on all trims is wired Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration and two USB ports. A 14-speaker Bang and Olufsen® sound system is standard on Prestige trim and available on the S3 Premium Plus.
