5 reasons to buy the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse

1. Spacious passenger environment

Seating up to eight across three rows, the 2017 Traverse provides ease and comfort to every passenger. The second row features two full sets of LATCH fixtures for your youngest travelers, and slide functionality in both the bench seat and captains' chair configurations, giving easy access to the third row. With ten cup holders placed throughout the cabin, everyone can keep refreshments within reach, and legroom is impressive too: from 41.3 inches up front to 36.8 and 33.2 inches in the second and third rows respectively.

2. Solid V6 engine

A sizable crossover SUV requires a powertrain to match, and the 2017 Traverse has just one heavy-hitter option that is well-suited to most tasks. Producing 281 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque, the Traverse's 3.6L V6 engine pairs to a six-speed automatic transmission and standard front- or optional all-wheel drive (only the LS base trim is FWD only). If you plan to hook up and haul, there's more great news. When properly equipped, this engine can move up to an estimated 5,200 lbs.

The Premier trim has a dual exhaust and an output boost of up to 288 hp alongside 270 lb-ft of torque, although fuel economy is unmoved. All models get an EPA-estimated 18 mpg combined for FWD versions or an EPA-estimated 17 mpg combined for AWD models.

3. Entertainment on-the-move

Each 2017 Traverse has a 6.5-inch diagonal color touchscreen display from where you can access your favorite radio stations. Alternatively, you can connect via Bluetooth®, USB interface, or auxiliary audio jack to your preferred device for your own music or podcasts. A rear-seat DVD player with an overhead display and wireless headphone connectivity is available on LT or Premier models, keeping younger passengers entertained on long journeys.

4. Endless cargo options

The 2017 Traverse has cavernous dimensions and plenty of flexibility to tackle all of life's tasks. Regular grocery runs are covered by this Traverse's 24.4 cu-ft of storage space behind the third row. For furniture and appliance purchases or a visit to the vet with your crated dogs, both rear rows fold flat to create a convenient 116.3 cu-ft of space for larger items.

5. A tricked-out base trim

The 2017 Traverse LS base trim offers an impressive roster of standard features that elevate driver convenience and passenger enjoyment. The tilt and telescoping steering wheel allows you to find a comfortable driving position, while the rearview camera adds a useful viewpoint when maneuvering this midsize SUV around tight parking garages. As an eight-seater vehicle, passengers will be glad to have front and rear air conditioning to keep things cool. And for teens that want to stay connected to their online world, this base trim also includes three USB charge ports and an available OnStar Wi-Fi® hotspot.
