The Jeep Grand Wagoneer L returned in 2022 after a 21-year hiatus. The 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L is an explosive retrospective on one of Jeep's flagship SUVs. For 2023, Jeep has debuted the 'L'—for 'long-wheelbase'—model, which provides an extra foot of length, and over 50% more cargo capacity, compared to the standard Grand Wagoneer. To power all 6,428 lbs of curb weight—along with up to eight passengers—the Wagoneer L is fitted with a twin-turbo 510- horsepower engine — plus there are three trims to look out for.
If you're in the market for a full-sized SUV, the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L is a versatile option. The new-for-2023 'L' model offers an extra foot of length from bumper to bumper, which translates to a more spacious interior for all eight passengers (43 inches of second-row legroom, for example), along with another 44 cu-ft of storage behind the third-row. As long as you're comfortable driving a tank-like SUV, the Grand Wagoneer L can manage whatever cargo you throw at it.
To handle all 18-plus feet of length, the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L sports a 3L twin-turbocharged 510-horsepower 6V engine. That's enough power to produce 500 lb-ft of torque and to tow a jaw-dropping, estimated 10,000 lbs, when properly equipped.
The 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L's baseline trim has a list of features long enough for a novel. To improve handling and access, the chassis offers air suspension (which can raise or lower the ride height of the vehicle), power-deployable running boards, LED exterior lighting, ambient interior lighting, and a hands-free liftgate. Inside, you'll also find four-zone automatic climate control, heated and ventilated front and second-row seats, massaging driver's seat with memory settings, second-row captain's chairs, and a heated steering wheel. And that's not even the half of it.
If all the features on the baseline trim aren't enough, there are three trim levels available on the Jeep Grand Wagoneer L—Obsidian, Series II, and Series III. The Obsidian is a style upgrade, with an emphasized darker exterior, plus a 10.25-inch front-passenger infotainment display, and a 23-speaker McIntosh® audio system. The Series II adds 22-inch wheels, a virtual rearview mirror (in case the trunk is packed to the gills), and premium leather upholstery throughout the cabin. Finally, the Series III opts for quilted upholstery, front cross-traffic warning, a cooled front console bin, and night vision (which offers an infrared image of the area in front of the vehicle).
To manage the massive 2023 Grand Cherokee L, Jeep has outfitted the SUV with a robust suite of driver aids. Standard across all trims are frontal collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning, lane keep assistance, front and rear parking sensors, and a surround-view camera system. There's also a semi-automated parking system, trailer sway control, automatic high beams, and even a rear seat reminder.
