The 2017 Toyota Avalon Hybrid has new driver-assist features as standard on all trims, and technology to please. The premium interior of this full-size sedan looks great and is very quiet on a cruise. Family-sized passenger and cargo room means everyone’s gear will have its place.
The hybrid engine shared by all Toyota Avalon Hybrid trims allows it to achieve excellent gas mileage. The standard regenerative braking system stores captured kinetic energy from the wheels in the onboard hybrid system battery, and driver-selectable ‘Eco’ driving modes optimize the climate control system’s output in the name of conserving fuel. This allows the Avalon Hybrid with 17-inch wheels to achieve an EPA-estimated 40 mpg combined.
Ideal for those long cruises, the 2017 Toyota Avalon Hybrid has a quiet engine and an even more hushed cabin. Acoustic noise-reducing windshield and front side windows keep out unwanted sounds, so you and your passengers can chat, listen to the standard HD Radio®, or hear your tunes. The “EV” driving mode even lets the Avalon Hybrid run only on the electric motor for short speeds under 20 mph; handy when you need to make a silent early morning getaway.
Climb into the cabin of the Toyota Avalon Hybrid, and you’re met with a premium-looking cabin. The considered and elegant design places the major controls in the stylish center stack that appears to float above the integrated eBin™. The home for your smartphone with a sliding panel for power cords to pass through, the 12-volt outlets, and USB connections ensure that no one’s device will run flat. For additional convenience, the Avalon Hybrid XLE and Limited trims have Qi-compatible wireless smartphone charging.
Whether you’re dropping off the kids at school, or taking the grandparents to the dance hall, the 2017 Avalon Hybrid can accommodate all the family. The 102.3 cu-ft of passenger volume is big enough for everyone, and with 39.1 inches of rear legroom, and 37.9 inches of headroom, adults will be as much at home in the back as the kids. Trunk space of 14 cu-ft means you don’t have to pack light when you’re all heading off on a cross-country trip.
The Toyota Avalon Hybrid is a big car, and this full-size sedan has a big list of features. New for 2017, a suite of driver-assist technologies will both add confidence and protect you in the parking lot. Luxuries include a power sunroof, leather trim, front door and trunk keyless entry, a rearview camera, a seven-inch color touchscreen infotainment system with voice recognition, and USB and Bluetooth® connectivity. Select the Avalon Hybrid XLE Premium trim for integrated navigation, or choose the Avalon Hybrid Limited trim for an ear-pleasing JBL® premium audio system.
