The 2016 Toyota Yaris, a subcompact hatchback sedan, is focused on maneuverability and practicality. With the Toyota legacy of well-built vehicles, it's easy to let go of any worries and simply have fun driving this car. Relatively unchanged from the previous model year, the 2016 Yaris is powered by a 1.5L, four-cylinder engine that produces 106 horsepower and 103 lb-ft of torque. There are two transmissions available, a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic. Smooth driving and steady around turns, the 2016 Yaris will get you where you need to go in fuel-sipping style.

The 2016 Toyota Yaris comes with Toyota's Entune® digital interface as standard equipment. Entune includes a 6.1-inch touchscreen, HD radio, Bluetooth® phone and audio connectivity, and a USB port. There's also available remote keyless entry. 

2. Driver assistance features 

You'll find all the driver assistance features you'd expect in the 2016 Toyota Yaris. There are anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control, and active front head restraints. There are also nine standard airbags in the cabin.  

3. Ample passenger space 

The 2016 Toyota Yaris is roomy enough for adults to be comfortable riding in either the front or the back seats. In the front seat, you'll enjoy headroom of 39.6 inches and legroom spanning 40.6 inches. In the rear, dimensions are similar with headroom of 37.6 inches and legroom of 33.3 inches.  

4. Cargo storage abounds 

A hatchback is great for carting your cargo, and the 2016 Toyota Yaris is ready. In the two-door version, you'll find 15.3 cu-ft of cargo space — 15.6 cu-ft in the four-door. You can also fold down the rear seats to create more space for storing luggage, groceries, or other items.

If you're interested in a subcompact hatchback, it may be because you want good gas mileage. And the 2016 Toyota Yaris can deliver. The EPA estimates fuel economy of 33 mpg combined for the manual transmission, including 30 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway. The automatic transmission is only slightly lower, at 32 mpg combined, breaking down to 30 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway.
