Finally got my dream car! 2014 Toyota Prius v

Pros

  • Fuel Economy

My husband drives about 40 miles (round trip) 5-6 days a week, but we’re not spending too much on gas! We only have to fill up every 9-10 days!

  • Technology and Entertainment

I love how easy it was to set up our phones to the car.

  • Cargo Space

I can go on a big grocery trip and not worry about not having enough space!

Smooth as butter 2014 Toyota Prius v

    Pros

    • Fuel Economy

This was my first Hybrid type, and boy does it really live up to the hype when it comes to Prius Fuel Economy! The motor turning off sometimes when the car is still "on" took a lot of getting used to, since I've had issues with cars dying on me before, but it's intentional and for efficiency sake now!

    • Ride and Handling

Thing handles like butter, smooth sailing, especially with the CV Transmission keeping everything gradual and only as strong as it needs to be.

    • Reliability

As the first non-handmedown car I've owned, everything feels so much higher in quality, and with the hybrid style of engine/motor, I bet this thing is gonna last me a good long time.

    Cons

    • Braking

The brakes were pretty grabby at first, it took a while to get used to.

    • Technology and Entertainment

Being an older model of car, a good bit of the infotainment system is outdated or obsolete, and the on board GPS is weirdly insistent on autofilling some addresses as you put them in, not letting me do it myself. At least the bluetooth works perfectly fine!

Very happy with my Prius v 2014 Toyota Prius v

    Pros

    • Fuel Economy

Even in the coldest part of this winter, the fuel economy was superior

    • Interior Space

Very roomy for small car, especially the back seat area. I would never be hesitant to ask passengers to sit in the back seat

    • Visibility

The big windshield provides great visibility. The cargo area window also provides great rear visibility

    Cons

    • Power

It does getting used to accelerate on highway ramps

    • Safety

There are blind spots on both the driver and passenger sides of the car. Need to be very careful changing lanes

    2014 Prius v 2014 Toyota Prius v

    Pros

    • Fuel Economy

The car has great fuel economy. Double from what my previous car got.

    • Interior Space

For a small car, it has a very roomy interior -- especially the back seat. Passengers have noted it.

    • Visibility

The big windshield is a big plus.

    Cons

    • Power

It takes a little getting used to with a small engine -- especially accelerating on on-ramps to highways and being able to merge in traffic.

    • Cargo Space

The cargo net I bought and had installed in the cargo area of the vehicle needs to be better placed. The attachment hooks should have been placed farther back in the cargo area -- such as in the middle. Right now, the cargo net sits right on the backdoor of the cargo area.

Great car, needs software patch for defaults 2014 Toyota Prius v

    Pros

    • Fuel Economy

Commuting by highway (which should result in worse mileage for a hybrid) I average 48 mpg.

    • Interior Space

I've never before seen a car in which the rear seats don't just fold down, they recline and can move back and forth like the front seats.

    Cons

    • Power

In its default mode the Prius V has weak pickup but it has a 'PWR' button to add power (actually to make the accelerator more responsive) but you have to press the button each time you start the car and, of course, it lowers the fuel efficiency.
