5 reasons to buy the 2014 Acura TSX

1. Stacked list of standard features

Take a look at the 2014 Acura TSX’s feature list, and you’ll find an impressive selection of comfort and tech equipment on offer. Just some of the standard kit you’ll find on every 2014 TSX include heated front seats, a seven-speaker sound system, a sunroof, and Bluetooth connectivity. Additionally, V6 TSX models get the Technology package included as standard, while models with the standard 2.4L engine can have the Technology package as an option. This adds an eight-inch display, a navigation system, and an upgraded ten-speaker surround-sound system.

2. Roomy and well-equipped cabin

The 2014 TSX is a relatively compact sedan, but step inside and you’ll be convinced you’re in a much bigger vehicle. There’s space for five passengers inside, with a total of 94.5 cu-ft of passenger volume, and generous legroom - 42.4 inches in the front and 34.3 inches in the back. You and your passengers will also be treated to numerous creature comforts as part of that generous list of standard features. These include leather upholstery and dual-zone automatic climate control.

3. Smooth and frugal standard engine

You get a choice of two engine options under the hood of the 2014 TSX. The standard powerplant is a 2.4L four-cylinder engine, mated to a five-speed automatic transmission (a six-speed manual transmission is optional) and putting 201 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque through the front wheels. While that amount of power is more than enough for daily cruising and commuting, it’s also enough to keep trips to the pumps at a relative minimum; this engine paired with the automatic transmission can achieve an EPA-estimated 25 mpg combined and 31 mpg on the highway.

4. Stout optional V6 engine

If you want a bit more performance, the 3.5L V6 engine is the ideal choice. Power output is bumped up to 290 horsepower and 254 lb-ft of torque Put your foot down away from the lights, and you’ll notice the difference - especially when you go from zero to 60 mph in 6.4 seconds with the five-speed transmission. While it’s not quite as frugal as the 2.4L engine, it still does pretty well in this regard too, achieving an EPA-estimated 22 mpg combined and 28 mpg on the highway.

5. Useful trunk and storage spaces

While you and your passengers enjoy a comfortable ride in the spacious cabin, there’s also enough space for their luggage and items as well. In the trunk, you get 14 cu-ft of cargo volume behind the rear seats, which is more than adequate for grocery shopping and travel cases. For larger items, 60/40 split-folding rear seats mean you can expand the cargo space - especially useful for long or awkwardly-sized items.
