The 2023 Cadillac CT4-V is like a throne made of swords. Sure, it’s respectable and comfortable, but with an edge. The CT4-V is the sport trim of the compact entry-level car in Cadillac’s lineup, and it emphasizes the sport. With a powerful 325-hp turbocharged engine and athletic and agile handling, it’s ready for your commute but also wants you to push it. Available in fun and tossable rear-wheel drive, or the more serious and capable all-wheel drive, the CT4-V has options to make it your ideal next car. Look for the sport, tech, and luxury options you must have, and take a test drive that you won’t forget.
1. Powerful turbo engine
Beneath the swept hood is a large 2.7L four-cylinder. It features a high-tech dual-volute turbocharger design, which is a fancy way of saying it's well-balanced and has excellent throttle response. You’ll notice the 325 horsepower at high RPM, but more importantly, you will love how the 380 lb-ft of torque pushes you into the seat from a stop, powers up steep grades, and makes passing a semi on the highway effortless.
2. Magnetic ride control
Standard on RWD CT4-V models, this suspension needs its own section. Normal suspension dampers are reactive, taking a hit from a pothole and then compressing and rebounding, doing their best to compensate for road irregularities. Magnetic ride control is an active suspension, meaning it uses multiple sensors to “see” what the road conditions are like. As you drive through a corner (or over a pothole), it senses the parameters and adjusts each corner as needed for the highest grip and most comfort, all at 1,000 times per second. You’ll never feel it working, other than the stellar ride experience.
Despite the sportiness built into the CT4-V’s DNA, it’s a smart sedan usable in the real world. For example, the standard head-up display puts info on the windshield so you don’t have to take your eyes off the road. The standard wireless charging pad is designed to accommodate the largest smartphones, keeping them secure as you top it up without fumbling for charging cords. Even the trunk has function built-in, with a wide opening and low liftover height, and the 60/40 split folding rear seat lets you carry extra-long cargo.
When the weather doesn’t cooperate, the CT4-V has your back. Available on the 2023 Cadillac CT4-V is an intelligent all-wheel drive system that can power you through slippery conditions like rain, slush, snow, or sand. It even works on dry pavement to enhance grip during cornering. The CT4-V AWD system can behave like a rear-wheel-drive car when needed, or drive power to the wheels with the most grip. It’s all automatic, with no driver input, but you will appreciate it when driving home in a torrential downpour.
The CT4-V has next-generation technology built into the architecture, with standard over-the-air software updates and enhanced cyber security. The large standard eight-inch CUE infotainment system features Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ connectivity, plus available WiFi.
