5 reasons to buy the 2016 Ford Edge
1. It's sized just right
If you're a grandparent taking on babysitting duties or a musician sometimes driving your bandmates to practice, you might be looking for a vehicle that's big enough, but not too big. The 2016 Ford Edge offers just that. It has seating for five people and is roomier than compact SUVs, but not as large as three-row options. It's the sweet spot in the middle with 39.2 cu-ft of cargo space behind the second row and 73.4 cu-ft when the back seats are folded flat.
2. Powerful engines
If you want an engine that will impress your colleagues or help you merge with ease, the 2016 Ford Edge offers it. The 2016 Edge comes standard with a turbo-charged 2L four-cylinder engine that produces 245 hp, but there's an available 280-hp 3.5L V6 too. The Sport trim has the most power, thanks to a 315-hp twin-turbocharged EcoBoost® 2.7L V6.
3. Connectivity for all
Riding with others can meet squabbling over charging points, particularly on road trips. There's no arguing in the 2016 Edge, however, thanks to four 12-volt power points that come standard. There are two in front, one near the rear seats and another in the back cargo area, so you never have to worry about running out of juice. Even though it wasn't available when new, Ford has updated many of the 2016 Ford Edge models that come with SYNC® 3 capabilities with Apple Carplay® and Android Auto™ functionality, too.
4. Child-friendly features
The 2016 Ford Edge comes standard with child-friendly features, whether you're bringing your infant to daycare or sending your newly minted teen driver out for milk. All 2016 Ford Edges come standard with LATCH anchors for the rear outboard seats and child safety locks on the back doors. The 2016 Edges also come standard with MyKey®, which lets you set speed and volume limits for certain drivers.
5. Available driver assist
If driving can sometimes feel like a chore, especially if you're navigating tricky urban maneuvers, don't worry. You can breathe a sigh of relief as the 2016 Ford Edge can be found with available driver-assist features including forward collision warning, lane-departure warning and lane-keep assist, and blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. The Edge also comes standard with a rear-view camera.
