Start your 2016 F-150 journey with a standard 3.5L V6, or if you need more powerful optional engines, you'll find a turbocharged 2.7L V6, a 5.0L V8, and a turbocharged 3.5L V6, each getting progressively more powerful. Depending on your space requirements, you can opt for the three-seat Regular Cab or six-passenger SuperCab, and SuperCrew body styles. Additionally, there are three cargo bed lengths ranging from 5.5 feet, 6.5 feet, and up to eight feet. Ford offers six trim levels, including XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and (new for 2016) the top-spec Limited.
No matter what power level you are looking for, the 2016 F-150 has you covered. Start with a 3.5L V6 with 283 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque. Optional engines include a turbocharged 2.7L V6 that produces 325 horsepower and 375 lb-ft of torque. Power and towing capability increase with the optional 5.0-liter V8 engine, rated at 385 horsepower and 387 lb-ft, or a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 gets a robust 365 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque.
Check out the F-150 XLT, and you'll find a great mix of standard exterior features such as automatic headlights, power mirrors and windows, 17-inch alloy wheels, foglights, and chrome exterior trim. Interior upgrades include extra interior storage, Bluetooth® phone and audio connectivity, and USB and auxiliary audio input jacks for the sound system.
The base V6 delivers a solid 7,600 pounds of towing capacity. That number jumps to 8,500 with the 2.7L V6, both when properly equipped. If you need to haul a heavier weekend load, the 5.0L V8 can tow up to 11,100 pounds, while the turbo 3.5L V6 can pull up to 12,200 pounds, also both when properly equipped.
Take a look through our listings, and you might come across the 301A package. The XLT trim adds useful features like heated mirrors, a rear window defroster, a Class IV trailer hitch, an eight-way power driver seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, rear under-seat storage, and a rearview camera. The Luxury Option Group 302A package adds things like a remote engine start, a power-sliding rear window, LED bed lighting, rear parking sensors, heated 10-way power-adjustable front seats, 110-volt household-style power outlets, and a larger eight-inch central touchscreen display.
The 2016 lineup features the dynamic duo of the King Ranch and Platinum models. They have a ton of previously noted features, plus higher-grade interior materials. New for 2016 is the top-spec F-150 Limited trim that gets just about everything plus larger 22-inch wheels, unique trim details, and many of the aforementioned convenience options as standard.
