The 2024 Genesis GV70 is a small five-seat luxury SUV that comes standard with all-wheel drive and offers a choice of two engines. Starting in 2024, a few of the higher GV70 trims added more standard features. The GV70 Sport Prestige now comes with ventilated seats, for example. It competes with rival two-row luxury SUVs such as the Acura RDX, BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLB, and Volvo XC60. Setting it apart from the competition is a cabin that combines elegance, functionality, and spaciousness in both passenger room and cargo volume.
Powering the GV70 2.5T is a turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. Higher up the trim ladder, the GV70 3.5T has a turbocharged V6 that churns out 375 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque. The turbo V6 is the one to choose if acceleration is a top priority, while the turbo-four is the better pick for overall fuel economy.
Ride and handling: The GV70 feels refined and relaxed when you’re behind the wheel. Its steering and suspension easily cope with both winding back roads as well as the day-to-day bustle of urban traffic. The GV70 is fitted with an adaptive suspension when equipped with the turbo V6, which gives the driver the ability to choose from different suspension firmness options.
Acceleration: The turbocharged four-cylinder isn’t pokey by any stretch of the imagination, but the turbocharged V6 is definitely the winner when it comes to straight-line speed. Punch the gas pedal and the GV70 3.5T needs approximately 5.3 seconds to run from 0 to 60 mph. That’s sports-car quick!
Standard features: Even the base-model Genesis GV70 is loaded with comfort and tech features. These include a 14.5-inch touchscreen, heated front seats, smartphone connectivity, navigation, and wireless device charging.
Fuel economy: One area where the GV70 could use improvement is fuel economy. Even the turbocharged four-cylinder returns only so-so EPA-estimated fuel economy figures. The thirstier turbo V6 musters only an EPA-estimated 20 mpg combined average in city and highway driving.
