2017 Honda Pilot review

1. Variety of trim levels

The 2017 Pilot gives you a great mix of trim levels and loads of standard equipment. While the base LX is a great option, check out the EX and you'll get standard stuff like a larger eight-inch touchscreen (instead of the base five-inch) plus Apple CarPlay^® and Android Auto^™ smartphone integration, and three-zone automatic climate control, just to name a few. If you want to upgrade your interior to leather upholstery, look for the EX-L, Touring, or Elite trim levels.

2. Roomy interior

Your daily routine likely contains a (sometimes chaotic) mix of hauling people and gear around town. Finding just the right mix of passenger and cargo space is key, and the 2017 Pilot has you covered. With all three rows in place, you'll get 16.5 cu-ft of space, which isn't bad for tackling daily errands. However, if you drop all of the fold-flat second- and third-row seats, you'll get a massive 83.9 cu-ft of cargo room. That should make it a great option for a trip to the home improvement store or to buy all your favorite stuff in bulk.

3. Luxury touches

Just because you need a family-mobile doesn't mean you can't find some great upscale elements. Each trim level ups the ante with great luxury features built in. Plus, with a focus on ride comfort and great optional upgrades like leather seating, heated first- and second-row seating, a panoramic roof, and noise-reducing acoustic glass, there is a lot of luxury built into the 2017 Honda Pilot.

4. Tech, too

In addition to cool infotainment tech that integrates your favorite Apple or Google smartphone, the 2017 Honda Pilot has a lot more to like. Keep the fun going out on the road with the optional rear entertainment system that features an overhead screen that integrates a Blu-ray^® player along with HDMI and RCA ports, plus two additional USB ports in the middle row. You'll also find an intelligent traction management system plus driver aids like automatic high-beam headlight control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and more.

5. Road trip ready

The 2017 Pilot has the power and capability to make your next road trip memorable. All trim levels of the 2017 Pilot get a great 3.5L V6 engine making a stout 280 horsepower. Plus, AWD is optional on all trim levels and standard on the top-spec Pilot Elite trim. Add in the previously mentioned cargo space, luxury, and technology features, and you've got the perfect road trip companion.
