5 reasons to buy the 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid

1. Good acceleration

Ready to ramp up? The 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid goes from zero to 60 in approximately 8.1 seconds in the standard trim. This midsize sedan has a revised powertrain for 2016 with an upgraded transmission. The gas engine on the hybrid standard trim gets 154 hp with 140 lb-ft torque. Other trims like the Limited get 193 hp thanks while the lithium-polymer battery grew to 1.6 kWh and the electric motor gained four horsepower with this year's release.

2. Stylish interior

While the standard version features a nice interior and cloth seats, other trims have upgraded features. The Sonata Plug-In Hybrid four-door Limited with Blue Pearl interior for example has heated leather seats, a cooled driver seat option, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and power seats. The icy-blue upholstery looks cool and will get noticed by any of your lucky passengers. The Plug-In Limited trim has a leather-wrapped steering wheel with a heating option, leather seats with heating capabilities, and a cooled driver’s seat. Some of the Limited trims have woodgrain interior accents that add sophistication to this vehicle.

3. Good-size cabin

Got friends? A few kids? Pets that love to travel? The 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid has roomy front seats—45.5 inches of legroom—and good space in the backseats—35.6 inches of legroom. The rear seats have split-folding rear seatbacks standard, making it easier to store more belongings if you have fewer passengers. There are plenty of storage options in the seatback pockets and door bins. In the trunk, there's 13.3 cu-ft of cargo space for the standard trim.

4. You want a plug-in hybrid option

You might be researching hybrids because you want to spend less time at the gas station. The Plug-in Hybrid model has an EPA-estimated all-electric range of 27 miles on a full charge.

The standard 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid gets an EPA-estimated 99 combined MPGe (electric) and 40 combined mpg (gas).
Once you snag this car, you'll also notice all the parking spots that are available for hybrid plug-in vehicles while running errands at stores around town.

5. Tons of driver features

The 2016 base version of the Sonata Hybrid includes a backup camera, auto-off headlights, remote trunk release, power steering, and a hands-free liftgate. It also has a CD player, MP3 player, satellite radio, hands-free calling, and a wireless cell phone hookup. Other trims have features that might appeal to you or another driver in your house. Those include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, ventilated front seats, rear vents, and a nine-speaker sound system. There are also driver-assist features to look out for including lane-departure warning systems and forward-collision warning systems.
