It's safe to say that the 2021 Mazda Mazda6 has many great qualities going for it, and the exterior design is one of them. This is a very pretty family sedan, with plenty of styles on the inside and out. It's mainly characterized by the prominent curves at the front, giving it an accentuated aesthetically pleasing look. The bold front grille, flanked by the narrow headlights, gives the Mazda6 a pleasingly modern and slightly aggressive look.
Although it always feels good to have a stylish vehicle, you also want the performance to match. The 2021 Mazda Mazda6 is the perfect example of this combination. It has two engine options: a base 187-hp 2.5L inline-four that generates 186 lb-ft of torque, and the available turbocharged 2.5L four-cylinder, which produces 227 hp. Both are paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. When powered by the turbocharged engine, the 2021 Mazda Mazda6 can go from zero to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds, and reach a top speed of 149 mph (when new).
On top of looks and performance, the 2021 Mazda Mazda6 has a refined and spacious interior. It seats five in a cabin that's lined with cloth upholstery for the base model and synthetic or real leather for the higher-level trims (where you will also get wood trim and suede door panels). The seats are soft and provide a comfortable ride during long-distance trips, but they're firm and supportive enough to make you feel safe and stable on rough terrains or winding roads. Passengers in the back get 38.7 inches of legroom, while those up front get 42.2 inches. First-row headroom measures 38.4 inches, decreasing to 37.1 inches for the second row.
As far as equipment is concerned, the 2021 Mazda Mazda6 has many standard tech features that make for an enjoyable riding experience for all passengers. For instance, all trims have an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility. Bluetooth® connectivity and voice recognition are also standard, as is a six-speaker sound system and two USB ports. The push-button start and the dual-zone automatic climate control top things off for a very high level of convenience.
Another very compelling benefit of owning a 2021 Mazda Mazda6 is the fact that it comes with numerous driver-assist features as part of the standard equipment across the entire lineup. For starters, it comes standard with lane departure warning, lane keep assist and forward collision warning. On top of that, it has pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert—all of which can be very useful when dealing with unexpected traffic scenarios. Finally, the rain-sensing windshield wipers and the automatic high-beam headlights also come in handy.
