5 reasons to buy the 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek

1. Standard all-wheel drive

All-wheel drive is absolutely something to celebrate in a vehicle like this. The 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek has AWD as standard with a choice of two transmissions, so keep an eye out for which you want between the five-speed manual or CVT. AWD gives you better traction on wet, rough, or icy surfaces and broadens your horizons when it comes to adventuring out into the countryside or wilderness.

2. Two trim levels

There are two trim levels for the 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, both of which have a decent roster of feathers. The 2.0i Premium base trim offers a CD player, Bluetooth® connectivity, USB and aux inputs, remote keyless entry, heated front seats, and a few other useful luxuries as standard. If you want a touchscreen, however, look for the 2.0i Limited which adds a 4.3-inch display as well as a rearview camera and automatic climate control.

3. Spacious interior

There’s plenty of space in the 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek; it’s one of its strongest points. As well as having roomy seats, the vehicle boasts one of the best cargo capacities in the class. With the rear seats up, there’s 22.3 cu-ft, which is already pretty generous. However, with them folded, that amounts to an incredible 51.9 cu-ft. Plus, there’s a flat load floor, making loading easy as pie.

4. Good off-roading capabilities

The 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek’s credentials as an off-roader come mostly thanks to its AWD, which enables it to drive with composure over a variety of road surfaces. Plus, it has good ground clearance – 8.7 inches – helping it traverse snowy streets and mountain trails. These off-roading credentials are ideal for anyone looking for an adventuring companion.

5. Good mpg

The 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek achieves a really good mpg for the class, especially the hybrid version. The normal XV Crosstrek gets an EPA-estimated 28 combined mpg with the CVT transmission, which is pretty great on its own.

But the hybrid version gets an EPA-estimated 31 mpg thanks to the addition of the electric motor, which is really impressive.
