What is new for the 2014 Toyota Avalon?

  • Avalon trims have been upgraded with 1530 as standard equipment this year.
  • The Limited trim now comes with Smart Key as standard equipment.
  • The XLE trim now comes with Rear View Camera and Smart Key as standard equipment.

5 reasons to buy the 2014 Toyota Avalon

1. Fully loaded trims

Everyone will be impressed with the Avalon’s plentiful standard features. The XLE trim has LED taillights, color-keyed and heater power side mirrors, keyless entry on the front doors with push-button start, and dual-zone climate control. The XLE Premium trim adds a power tilt/slide sunroof and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Choose the XLE Touring trim for front foglights, and the Limited trim for xenon headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, tri-zone climate control, and select driver-assist features. A rearview camera and cruise control are standard on all Avalon trims.

2. Entertaining tech

Whether you’re collecting the kids from school or driving to the skate park, the Toyota Avalon has entertaining technology. A 6.1-inch color touchscreen audio system comes as standard on the Avalon XLE and XLE Premium trims, and eight speakers, USB ports, and wireless Bluetooth® connectivity let you all hear your tunes on the move. Move up to the XLE Touring trim for Toyota's Entune App Suite smartphone app integration and connected services system, satellite and HD Radio®, and a navigation system to make planning routes easier.

The Limited trim is for true music fans with a JBL® 11-speaker audio set-up, a seven-inch touchscreen display, and hard-drive-based navigation.

3. Cosseting cabin

Get into the cabin of the 2014 Toyota Avalon, and you’ll be greeted by upscale materials and elegant design. The center console is integrated neatly and appears to float in the middle of the dashboard, while the materials around it give off luxury vibes. Posh-looking rotary knobs sit alongside touch-sensitive buttons, and the white ambient lighting and heated rear seats of the Limited trim soothes. Heated front leather seats with multiple power adjustments come as standard on all Avalon trims for a little extra pampering.

4. Room for gear

The Avalon is a full-size sedan so has room for everything and everyone. As a full five-seater, front-seat passengers have 42.1 inches of legroom, while those in the back can stretch out with 39.2 inches of rear legroom. And don’t worry about cramming stuff into the trunk, with 16.0 cu-ft of cargo space, a wide opening, a low liftover ledge height, and a practical shape, all your crew’s gear will fit inside.

5. Smooth performance

The 268-hp 3.5L V6 gas engine and six-speed automatic transmission of the Avalon delivers smooth performance. The 248 lb-ft of torque is more than enough for any driving scenario, whether you’re heading onto the highway, or on the daily commute. This respectable pace gives good gas mileage, too. The Avalon XLE and XLE Premium trims on 17-inch wheels have an EPA-estimated 25 mpg combined, while the Avalon XLE Touring and Limited trims with 18-inch wheels have an EPA-estimated 24 mpg combined.
