2020 marked the last year of the Lincoln MKZ, an attractive five-seat luxury sedan with an angle towards comfort instead of performance handling. The MKZ shows why it's all right to be a comfortable cruiser with desirable features and high-tech options. 2020 sees a simplified trim lineup, with only base and Reserve, and lane-keep assist is now standard equipment.
The twin-turbo 3.0L V6 engine is a muscle car-worthy engine that entirely transforms the driving character of the Lincoln MKZ. With 350 horsepower when paired with FWD, the V6 is an amusing handful to drive, with tons of torque and effortless acceleration from a stop of passing on highways. When paired with AWD, the MKZ becomes a serious sports sedan. This version has 400 hp and can rip off zero to 60 in just 4.8 seconds thanks to traction at all four wheels.
The MKZ has an infotainment system that is easy to use and responsive. The standard eight-inch touchscreen is bright and clear, but more importantly, fast and accurate with touches. No frustrating searches through menus for how to lower the radio volume, as the MKZ has real knobs and buttons for the most commonly used tasks like volume and A/C controls. Optional voice-activated navigation ensures you never get lost, and comes standard with satellite radio.
Do you have to drive to work when it snows? How about when it’s pouring rain? Slippery road conditions can make for a challenging drive, but the available AWD system in the 2020 MKZ can handle it with ease. This intelligent AWD system uses sensors to monitor road conditions and wheel grip. When wheel spin is detected, such as when taking a rain-slicked corner, the MKZ reacts before you can notice, applying power to the wheels with traction.
If the word “luxury” conjures a picture of a quiet, relaxing, peaceful spa day, then the Lincoln MKZ is for you. Taking cues from traditional luxury cars of the past, the MKZ has a soft riding suspension that isolates the cabin from bumps, vibrations, and road noise. The large plush seats are comfortable for all-day traveling thanks to the standard 10-way power function and heating. Tall passengers will love your car, with 37.9 inches of headroom and a stunning 44.3 inches of legroom.
Maybe chrome isn’t your thing. If so, check out the 2020 MKZ with Monochromatic package. While a mouthful, it’s worth it as it swaps all the exterior chrome for body-color trim, including the grille. It’s only available in black or white, but if that isn’t a dealbreaker, it also adds exclusive black 19-inch alloy wheels. The luxury car that looks like nothing else is now even more unique.
