The 2014 Lincoln MKZ is an attractive midsize luxury sedan with the options to please. There are two engines available, each with the option of FWD or AWD. The soft suspension delivers a comfortable and quiet experience for up to five people, with impressive passenger and cargo room. Standard features include an active suspension, ambient lighting, and push-button transmission. Optional features can turn up the comfort or the tech, with heated rear seats, booming sound systems, and an open-air retractable roof are all available.
The 2014 MKZ has a choice of healthy engines for quickly escaping traffic. The base engine is a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder making 240 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. With AWD, this engine is good for a zero to 60 time of 7.2 seconds when new. Optionally, and standard on higher trims, the 3.7L V6 has 300 hp and 277 lb-ft, with a quicker zero to 60 of 6.4 seconds when new.
Front-wheel drive is standard in the 2014 MKZ with all-wheel drive available at any trim level and both engines. When you are on slippery roads and accelerating from a stop, or taking a corner in the snow, the advanced torque vectoring control constantly monitors each wheel for slip. At the instant wheel spin is detected, the AWD system automatically reduces power there and applies it to the wheels with traction.
Find the right MKZ for you by narrowing down what trim has the most desirable standard features. The base Premier trim has 18-inch wheels, an eight-inch touchscreen with 11-speaker sound, and 10-way power heated seats. Select trim adds a standard rearview camera, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and exterior LED accents. Reserve trim has standard voice navigation, blind-spot monitoring, and cooled perforated front seats. Finally, Preferred has all of the above, plus standard 19-inch alloy wheels, a heated steering wheel, and THX® II Certified audio system.
If you are looking to make your daily commute easier, look for the available Technology Package. This grouping of driver assistance tech adds adaptive cruise control for easing the stress of highway road trips. For urban driving, active park assist with forward sensing make navigating parking garages much easier. Also standard here are lane-keep assist, automatic high beams, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
With a plush suspension, the 2014 MKZ distances you from all road noise and harshness, providing a quiet and graceful ride. Large and supple seating has standard 10-way power adjustability and heating, with available heating for rear seats. The front legroom is an astounding 44.3 inches for your tallest friends, and even the push-button transmission design frees up space for more storage in the flush center console.
