For the 2015 model year, the Volkswagen Jetta received a refresh. These updated looks included new front, rear, and interior styling that helped give this compact sedan a more upscale and mature look. But that’s not all. Volkswagen also helps ensure your daily commute is more relaxing with newly available driver-assist features, such as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward-collision warning, and parking sensors. Other updates included a revised turbodiesel engine, a new 1.8T Sport model with improved suspension, and newly available bi-Xenon headlights for improved nighttime visibility.
The 2015 Volkswagen Jetta may be a compact sedan, but it’s ideal for your family and friends because it is small enough to manage crowded streets and tight parking lots but roomy enough for everyone. Up front, the Jetta offers 41.2 inches of legroom and well-padded seats for a comfortable ride. The rear seats also have plenty of space, with 38.1 inches of legroom. So, whether you’re taking the kids to a friend’s house or heading to lunch with work colleagues, everyone rides comfortably in the 2015 Jetta.
The Jetta may have compact sedan dimensions, but you wouldn’t know from its large trunk. The 2015 Jetta’s trunk can fit a surprising 15.7 cu-ft of cargo. This gives you all the space you need for all the kids’ sports gear or a week’s worth of groceries with plenty of room to spare.
The 2015 Jetta’s base engine isn’t anything to write home about, but its optional powertrains are plentiful and well-balanced. The 1.8L turbocharged four-cylinder in the SE, SEL, and Sport trims injects 170 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque that help sprint it to 60 mph in about seven seconds. On top of being quick, this powertrain is commuter-friendly with EPA-estimated fuel-economy numbers of 25 mpg city, 36 mpg highway, and 29 mpg combined with the five-speed manual transmission.
If you’ve got a longer commute, you may want to consider the 2015 Jetta Hybrid. It comes standard with a 1.4L turbocharged four-cylinder and an electric motor that combine for 170 hp. While it won’t blow you away with speed, the hybrid will impress you with its EPA-estimated fuel economy of 41 mpg city, 48 mpg highway, and 44 mpg combined. This will help you go further between stops on your commute or next road trip.
The 2015 model year brought in a handful of driver-assist features you'll find helpful on your daily commute. They include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and forward collision warning. These features are standard in the 1.8T SE with the Connectivity and Navigation package and all SEL trims.
