The 2018 Audi S7 takes the sleek shape of the standard A7 luxury sedan and ups its performance courtesy of a turbocharged 4.0-liter V8. With an air suspension and all-wheel drive as standard equipment, the S7 is not only blisteringly fast, it also has a smooth ride and tenacious grip in all types of driving conditions.
If you don’t mind sacrificing some rear headroom for the coupe-like roofline, the S7 has a practical side to it, too. That’s because the rear liftgate opens to reveal a trunk with a capacity of 24.5 cubic feet. This is more than what you get in a number of rivals, including the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series.
Audi is known for crafting elegant interiors and the S7 is no exception. Available in two main trims — Premium Plus and Prestige — even the base S7 comes with niceties like heated front seats, four-zone climate control, leather seating surfaces, Bose® surround-sound stereo, and an 8-inch infotainment screen that’s compatible with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™.
Turbo V8 engine: Not many would argue the regular A7 is underpowered with its gutsy 340-hp turbo V6. Yet there’s no arguing S7’s 450-hp turbo V8 takes things to an entirely higher level of performance and driving excitement.
Cargo space: Yes, the S7 will gladly swallow plenty of shopping bags or luggage for long trips. Despite this sedan’s come-hither shape, the S7’s trunk is roomy and the power rear liftgate provides easy access to a conveniently low and flat cargo floor.
Quality interior: Everywhere you look and touch, the S7’s cabin impresses with elegant materials and excellent design. All controls are within easy reach and the power-adjustable front seats hold you snugly in place during spirited driving adventures.
Rear headroom: There’s no complicated math involved when figuring out that the more upright exterior of a traditional sedan provides better rear headroom. That’s the price an Audi owner pays for the tapering roofline of the S7.
