Though the 2021 BMW M440 has an “M” in its name, it’s not a true M-tuned model. We’ll call it an M-light for clarity. The M440 has a potent 3.0L turbocharged inline-six-cylinder engine that pushes 382 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque out to all four wheels. This adds up to a zippy zero-to-60 acceleration time of just 4.3 seconds in the coupe model or five seconds in the convertible model.
BMW is known for always striking a great balance between firm and responsive handling and a soft, comfortable ride. It hit the bulls-eye with the 2021 M440. Its stiff chassis ensures it remains glued to the road — even on windy roads — while its suspension eats up bumps in the road, keeping vibrations and noise to a minimum.
The 2021 BMW M440’s superior comfort goes beyond its well-balanced chassis and suspension. It continues into the front seats, which feature the right balance of soft support to keep you comfortable on long hauls and bolstering to keep you in place during spirited driving. Plus, they feature a wide range of adjustability and a spacious 41.8 inches of legroom, making them suitable for a wide range of shapes and sizes.
The BMW M440 is still a luxury car at heart, and you likely have certain expectations when stepping into a premium model like this. You expect a high level of standard features and plenty of options to further dress it up. The 2021 M440 will meet these expectations with its standard synthetic leather upholstery, moonroof, auto climate control, automatic headlights, 8.8-inch touchscreen, 5.1-inch digital gauge display, and more. And if you want more features, the M440 also has a wide range of standalone options and packages to look out for.
In the 2021 M440, the new iDrive 7 interface debuts, and it features a far more intuitive interface with a touchscreen replacing the once-frustrating selector knob. It also comes standard with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlayⓇ compatibility. This means you can listen to your favorite tunes and podcasts with ease.
The BMW M440 has a wide range of exterior color options, including one standard non-metallic color, five optional metallic finishes, and two optional Individual metallic paints. This allows you to choose a paint job that’ll stand out. You also have seven interior color options to pick from, ranging from the timid black to the bold Tacora Red, giving your BMW an even more custom look and feel.
