The X1 packs plenty of power and luxurious pizazz into its sub-compact SUV size. You'll love the X1's standard turbocharged 2.0L engine with 240 horses, or shop for the available 300-horsepower version for peak performance. The X1 lives up to BMW's long-standing focus on the driver, giving you agile handling and an optional all-wheel drive system ready for any road condition. With standard leatherette seats, an eight-speaker stereo system, and heated mirrors, you've got luxury at your fingertips. With the X1, you're equally prepared for a weekday commute or a weekend away.
The X1 comes standard with a TwinPower turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivering 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. That's enough oomph to put a smile on your face every time you climb behind the wheel. You can dial the fun up even more by shopping for the X1' xDrive35i trim with a 3.0LTwinPower turbocharged six-cylinder that bumps the performance up to 300 horses and 300 lb-ft of torque. No matter which engine you choose, the X1 is ready to go.
The X1's near 50/50 weight distribution makes the standard rear-wheel-drive system agile in any weather conditions. You can increase the X1's capabilities by opting for the xDrive28i or xDrive35i, both with all-wheel drive. To wring the most out of the X1's handling, shop for an X1 with the Performance Control for optimized engine power and braking management.
All of the X1's engine performance doesn't mean you'll have pain at the fuel pump. The 2015 X1 comes with an automatic engine stop-start feature to conserve fuel when stopped. The rear-wheel drive X1 sDrive28i and the all-wheel drive xDrive28i both have a combined EPA-estimated 26 mpg, meaning fewer stops at the gas station.
The X1's agile handling comes from the SUV's low profile and short 108.7-inch wheelbase. Look for the M Sport trim if you want a sport suspension and aerodynamic body kit on the front and rear bumpers and side skirts. Available steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, standard on the M Sport, keep your hands right where you need them.
The X1 doesn't hold back on the luxuries, with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated mirrors, leatherette seats, and an eight-speaker stereo system all standard. The Sport Line trim gives you bolstered front sport seats, while the M Sport trim has available 19-inch rims, high-gloss black roof rails, and sport suspension.
