2023 Cadillac XT6 luxury SUV gets more standard features for upper trims
The 2023 Cadillac XT6 is a midsize luxury SUV with three rows of seating and a choice of a standard 237-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder or optional 310-hp V6. Available in Premium, Premium Luxury, and Sport trims, the 2023 XT6 now has more standard features on the two higher trims. They include heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seating, and navigation. Front-wheel drive is standard, though all-wheel drive is available on every trim. While the turbo-four is better in terms of fuel economy, the V6 delivers noticeably stronger acceleration.
Positioned above the smaller XT4 and below the mighty full-size Escalade, the XT6 is attractively styled and offers seating for eight, or seven with the available second-row dual captain’s chairs. There is ample headroom and legroom, even in the rear-most seats. Cargo space shrinks to only 12.6 cubic feet with all rows occupied.
A highly intuitive infotainment system is a major plus, but the fit and finish of the cabin lacks the more premium feel found in competitors like the Audi Q5, BMW X5, and Acura MDX.

What We Like
Cabin space: We appreciate that Cadillac didn’t design the XT6 to have two rows of seating for adults and one usable only by small kids. The third-row seats have a generous amount of space and don’t feel like a penalty box if you happen to be over the age of 7.
Easy-to-use infotainment system: The XT6 has an eight-inch touchscreen with clear controls and menus that are easy to navigate. It comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and satellite radio.
Suspension tuning, highway ride: It’s no speed demon, but the XT6 excels if you value a supple highway ride and quiet cabin more than tire-smoking acceleration. The V6 is particularly adept at wafting this Cadillac down the road.
What Needs Improvement
Pricey even among midsize luxury SUVs: The Cadillac XT6 has many fine qualities, but its price is steep even compared to posh rivals from the likes of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Lexus. Part of the problem is cabin quality that doesn’t live up to this Cadillac’s entry fee, along with modest performance limits (even with the optional V6).
