2022 Ford F-250 comes in many flavors

The 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty comes standard with tons of capability, but the heavy-duty pickup truck can also be loaded with scores of options that can make the Super Duty a bit pricey. When properly equipped, the F-250 can tow 20,000 pounds and its gasoline V8 engine is plenty impressive. Various factors may impact towing capacity, including weight of passengers, cargo, and options/accessories. New for 2022 is a 12-inch touchscreen that isn't available on the base XL trim, and four-wheel drive is only standard on half of the trim levels.

The F-250 is a very tall truck, even for its class. Getting inside without a step is a challenge, and running boards are not standard on most trim levels. The optional crew cab has plenty of room for both driver and passenger and the ride quality is good for a truck of this size. With that being said, the Ram 2500 offers a slightly more comfortable ride and its seat padding is slightly superior.

If you opt for one of the higher trims, like the mid-tier Lariat, you'll be treated to creature comforts like dual-zone climate, leather upholstery, power-adjustable seats and pedals, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ and the upgraded 12-inch touchscreen. The F-250 can be had as a classic work truck or a full-on luxury vehicle.

5 reasons to buy the 2022 Ford F250

What We Like

Performance: The F-250 delivers strong acceleration with any of its three available engines, but the turbocharged diesel V8 stands out for its quick pace. The optional 10-speed transmission also shifts smoothly. Towing and payload capacity are robust.

Storage: There are plenty of places to store your items inside the roomy interior of the F-250. The back seat also offers generous room for car seats, as long as you can hoist them up to that height.

Tech: The updated, and optional, Ford SYNC® 4 system on the 12-inch touchscreen is good-looking and easy to use. Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto are standard on all trims and the standard SYNC 3 system is plenty capable.

What Needs Improvement

Comfort: Flat seats in the back row limit the F-250's comfort and all seats lack the cushioning you'll find on the rival Ram 2500. While not surprising, the Super Duty also loses a bit of its road manners when driving with an empty bed.
