Hyundai Tucson is all-new for 2022 with bold styling

Hyundai has thrown away caution and gone bold with its all-new 2022 Tucson, giving its small SUV a very distinctive design. It now stands out against key rivals including the Honda CR-V and the Toyota RAV4. It’s not all style without substance, either, because the 2022 Hyundai Tucson retains Hyundai’s usual traits of strong value as well as generous equipment levels. So if you like the looks, it’s a real win-win. The SE, SEL, N Line, and Limited trim levels are offered for the 2.5-liter gasoline engine model. The Blue Hybrid, SEL Convenience Hybrid, and Limited Hybrid are the trim levels for the, you’ve guessed it, hybrid models. A regular hybrid and plug-in hybrid are available.

Those hybrids mix an electric motor and a 1.6-liter engine and are all-wheel-drive with a six-speed automatic. The 2.5-liter engine model is available with either front- or all-wheel drive and uses an eight-speed automatic transmission. The SE comes with all the essentials, including LED headlights, alloy wheels, and an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. Hyundai also outfits the base model with an extensive list of advanced driver aids. The SEL and above add some convenience and luxury features, with SEL the real sweet spot in the lineup. They're are all fairly unremarkable to drive, but that’s true of the majority of its rivals. The Tucson appeals for its value, utility, and ample equipment—and now its bold looks.

5 reasons to buy the 2022 Hyundai Tucson

1. A complete redesign for 2022

The Hyundai Tucson has been fully redesigned for 2022, making it even more attractive in looks and features. Thanks to numerous updates, this is one to consider if you're looking for a practical SUV. You'll enjoy the spacious cabin trimmed with high-end materials and plenty of standard driver aids to make driving a breeze. On the road, it's agile with a great driving position and plenty of get-up-and-go, making the 2022 Hyundai Tucson a strong choice for your next SUV.

2. Two infotainment layout options

There are two infotainment layout options for the 2022 Hyundai Tucson, depending on what type of entertainment you want for long drives and road trips. The standard design features an eight-inch touchscreen with great graphics and intuitive menus. The screen is highly responsive and is supported by physical buttons, so you don't always need to rely on the touchscreen. If you prefer something more high-tech, there's an option of a 10.25-inch touchscreen on all but the base SE trim. It has a matching digital gauge cluster, and a modern touch-operated panel replaces the physical buttons.

3. Loads of cargo space

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson has huge cargo space for a compact SUV, making it ideal for road trips, staycations, shopping trips, or team sports. Behind the rear seats, it has 38.7 cu-ft of space, which expands to a huge 74.8 cu-ft with the rear seats folded. This means even bulky items like furniture can fit into the trunk—perfect for garage sale finds.

4. A comfortable ride on many surfaces

Every trim of the 2022 Hyundai Tucson has the option of AWD. If you love an adventure, this vehicle is prepared for all the elements. Its impressive suspension means it glides over rough terrain but still feels stable on sharp turns. Comfortable and agile, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson offers the best of both worlds.

5. Plenty of driver aids

As you would expect from a compact SUV, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson has plenty of driver-assistance features to remove the worry from your ride. Standard driver aids include pedestrian detection, lane keep assist, driver drowsiness monitoring, rear seat alert, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, and a rearview camera. The higher trims keep adding to this list, with rear collision warning, a surround-view parking camera, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, and more.
