A classy performance

With the 2016 K900, Kia puts its best foot forward. This sedan is Kia’s offering to the luxury vehicle market, and it delivers with style and class. From the exterior paint colors to the interior materials to the considerate use of electronics to amplify the driver and passenger experiences, the K900 is a nice buy if you can get it. And it’s powerful, too. The top-tier Luxury V8 trim packs 420 horsepower, and all trims come with automated manual driving mode, helping it get from zero-to-60 in 5.7 seconds.

5 reasons to buy the 2016 Kia K900

1. Solid performance

The 2016 Kia K900 has a powerful engine that will surpass the needs of most drivers. The Premium V6 and Luxury V6 trims have the same engine: a 3.8L direct injection V6 engine that gets 311 horsepower and 293 lb-ft of torque. The Luxury V8 trim ups the ante with a 5.0L direct injection V8 engine at 420 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque. All three come with an eight-speed automatic transmission with Sportmatic, Kia’s automated manual driving mode that facilitates upshifting and downshifting. The EPA-estimated fuel economy of the V6 is 17 mpg in the city and 25 on the highway. The V8 gets just 15 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway.

2.  Refined appearance

The 2016 Kia K900 is a luxury car inside and out. There are just four color options — snow white pearl, two shades of metallic grey, and pearl black — no doubt a choice by Kia to maintain the elegance of the model. The interior has a consistent color theme as well: black, white, beige, or brown. The base Premium V6 trim can choose from black or white leather and walnut, poplar, or aluminum interior accents. Access to the elegant quilted leather seat design requires an upgrade to the Luxury V8 VIP package. Regardless, whichever 2016 K900 you find is sure to have a distinguished vibe.

 3. Comfort-minded luxurious touches

All three trims put comfort at your fingertips. The 9.2-inch HD infotainment touchscreen is at the right height, the instrument cluster is well-lit and easy to read, and a control dial in the center console lends intuitive navigation of the car’s infotainment and driver-assist features without having to lean forward to use the touchscreen. Push-button start, front and rear camera display, power mirrors, locks, windows, trunk, sunshades for the rear window, and panoramic sunroof are all small comforts in their own right that add up to a luxurious ease of use.

4. Rear passengers aren’t an afterthought

In the back, a fold-down middle seat transforms into a wide armrest with climate zone control, including control over the rear heated seats as well as the rear window sunshade. Drivers who frequently have backseat passengers — particularly private chauffeurs and luxury rideshare drivers — may find themselves gravitating toward the power-reclining and ventilated rear seat options on the V6 and V8 VIP packages. On all trims, the rear seats themselves are bucket seats with contoured adjustable headrests. Headroom (37.6 inches) and legroom (38.2 inches) in the back are more than adequate.

5. Sophisticated audio

The V6 and V8 Luxury trims on the 2016 K900 have a 900-watt 17-speaker sound system delivered by Lexicon®. The surround sound audio is magnified by a 12-channel digital sound processor, power amplifier, and subwoofer — a stunning combo that puts some home audio systems to shame. To plug in, the 2016 K900 has Bluetooth® connectivity, aux and USB jacks, CD player, AM/FM radio, and Kia’s proprietary UVO infotainment system service with voice-command navigation and SiriusXM® compatibility. Plus, the cabin is extremely quiet thanks to the materials and competent suspension, allowing you to appreciate the audio all the more.
