The 2020 K900 is the last in Kia’s K900 luxury dynasty; just one year after a major update, the vehicle was discontinued to fall in line with shifting market trends. Its increasing rarity means you should seriously consider it if you spot one while shopping for a luxury sedan on the used car market. It’s a stylish, confident, and capable car with a lot of contemporary amenities that allow it to compete with newer vehicles. The 2020 Kia K900 comes with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration, a high-end 17-speaker sound system, a slew of driver-assist features, power-everything (locks, mirrors, seats, sunshades, etc.), and many other touches that make it a great contender — and we haven’t even gotten to the looks yet.
The 2020 K900 has one trim, the Luxury V6, and one upgrade package, the VIP Package. With either, you're getting an all-wheel-drive luxury sedan that comes standard with leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, real wood accents, LED ambient lighting, and a host of other refinements. The Luxury V6 trim has three interior color options — black, brown with beige, and a deep brown — and the VIP Package adds a fourth option, Sierra brown. Wood accents come in brown cherry, rosewood, or brown olive ash. The color scheme is thoughtfully repeated around the cabin to bring cohesion and harmony to the interior.
Kia stays true to the K900 spirit with the high-performing Lexicon® sound system, delivering a 900-watt Discrete Logic 7® surround-sound experience to the cabin. The system contains a 12-channel digital sound processor, power amplifier, and subwoofer that together rival many home entertainment setups. The distortion-free, high-fidelity sound is a joy for audiophiles. Drivers can plug into the audio system through Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™ integration, Bluetooth® connectivity, the CD player, USB and aux ports, AM/FM radio, and available satellite radio.
The 2020 K900 is a friend to the big and tall in several ways. On legroom, front-row occupants get 45.7 inches and rear-seat passengers get 36.6 inches. For headroom, the front offers 41.1 inches, and in the back, 38 inches. The driver’s seat has 20-way power adjustment with four-way lumbar support and two-way side bolster support, plus leg extension for the long-legged among us. The VIP Package extends those comforts to the rear bench, giving both back bucket seats multi-way power adjustments and lumbar support with lateral headrest adjustments.
The 2020 Kia K900 is a smooth sedan boasting a 3.3L twin turbo V6 engine and eight-speed automatic transmission. It clocks 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque and comes standard with all-wheel drive. Those specs mean it’s more than capable of handling slick roads. When it comes to fuel economy, the EPA estimates that the 2020 K900 gets 18 mpg on the highway and 25 mpg in the city.
The 2020 Kia K900 has a lot of technological components inside, but it doesn’t beat you over the head with them. The infotainment stack is nicely integrated into the dash, and the pair of backseat dual entertainment screens keep your backseat passengers entertained. LED headlights and tail lamps keep the road illuminated, and the backlit digital instrument cluster is informative without being distracting. The mechanics inside the seats that deliver ultra-precise adjustments and support are almost invisible to the eye. Even the USB and aux ports are hidden under a push panel in the armrest. The K900 is a neat car that prioritizes elegance, but not at the cost of modernity.
