The fourth generation of the Mitsubishi Outlander was released in 2022 and is ongoing, making the 2024 model the best version so far. It’s a small SUV that can still accommodate up to seven passengers, while still feeling spacious and comfortable to ride in. It’s a strong combination with a broad appeal.
1. New top trim
There’s a new and exciting top trim for the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander: the SEL Platinum Edition. The SEL already adds a lot of luxurious touches to the previous line-ups, including leather upholstery, heated rear outboard seats, special badging and styling details, and tri-zone automatic climate control. But the SEL Platinum further upgrades the interior and exterior style of the vehicle, giving it more of a sleek, cool edge.
2. Comfortable
One of the consistently appealing things about the Mitsubishi Outlander is the comfort level. The 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander has well-padded, supportive front seats that keep passengers comfortable even on long drives. In the back, passengers benefit from climate control just as those in the front do, and the sturdy cabin effectively blocks out road noise. Mitsubishi has done a great job of essentially making the cabin of this vehicle feel like a living room.
The 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander is appealing if you value a good range of tech that’s also easy to use. The touchscreen interface is bright, clear, and easy to use. An eight-inch touchscreen is standard, through which you’ll also find Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration, as well as Bluetooth® connectivity. There are also two USB ports — look out for the exciting extras, such as remote keyless entry and push-button start, that join the roster for the high-level trims.
Who doesn’t love lots of places to keep bits and bobs? The 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander has plenty of room to stash things, including a tray under the center stack (officially for charging your phone, but you can do anything with it), and a large underarm bin. There are door pockets and cup holders for passengers to make use of, and the cargo space is decent. With all seats full, there’s not much room left for luggage — only 11.7 cu-ft. However, with the third row folded, there’s 33.5 cu-ft of space, which is generous and enough for a multitude of necessities to fit inside.
Standard driver aids are extremely generous with the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander. There are a lot of the expected features, like forward collision warning, rearview camera, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and more. But there are also more high-tech driver aids, like rear-seat alert (to remind you of children or animals in the back before you leave), and driver attention monitoring to keep your mind on the road. It’s an impressive list for the class.
