The 2024 Audi SQ7 a powerful yet luxurious three-row luxury SUV
The Audi SQ7 is the high-performance version of the luxury automaker's Q7 three-row SUV. The SQ7 is powered by a 500-horsepower turbocharged V8 engine and adds firmer suspension tuning and upgraded brakes. It still provides a comfortable ride, along with excellent tech and several advanced driver aids. It is thirstier for gas than the standard Q7, and the tight third row is best suited for children, but the SQ7 aces many other categories.
The SQ7 competes with other large high-performance SUVs such as the BMW X7 M60i and the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S. Finally, if you don't really need a third row and want an SUV that handles almost like a sports car, consider the Porsche Cayenne.
The 2023 Audi SQ7 received minimal changes. A set of 22-inch wheels were made available and dual-pane laminated windows were added to models equipped with the Executive package.

- Enhanced safety features including lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control now standard on all models.

- Standard alloy wheels upgraded from 16-inch to 17-inch for a sportier look.
What We Like
Acceleration: You'd never guess by looking at the SQ7 that it could reduce the sportscar next to you to a speck in your rearview mirror. It needs only 3.9 seconds to hit 60 mph from a standstill. That's quick by any measure, and it's quickly becoming a common trend for these modern high-performance SUVs.
Comfortable ride: Despite its sporty credentials, the SQ7 delivers an abundance of everyday comfort. The standard air suspension manages to soak up road imperfections like a sponge, without making the ride feel overly floaty in the process. The Prestige-spec vehicle Edmunds tested also included dual-pane windows that greatly reduced the ambient wind and surrounding noise. Thankfully, the growl of the 4.0-liter V8 engine is present when you want to hear it.
Cargo space: Cargo capacity ranges from 14.8 cubic feet (behind the third row), 35.7 cubic feet with the third row stowed, and 69.6 cubic feet with all rows folded. While this trails class leaders like the Lincoln Aviator and Acura MDX, the space is still substantial when compared to other performance two-row SUVs. The third-row seats are power-folding, and the hands-free liftgate and low floor height make for easy loading. The air suspension can also lower to further help you load cargo.
What Needs Improvement
Polarizing infotainment interface: Audi abandoned its rotary controller in favor of a new touchscreen-only interface. On the one hand, it is one of the better implementations of any dual-screen system to date, but some Edmunds testers found it more distracting to operate on the go and noticed that it was prone to smudges. There's definitely a learning curve to understanding the flow and structure of the menus. Other testers felt that the digital gauge cluster was intuitive and highly configurable via steering wheel controls. The jury is split on this one.
