1. Luxurious standard features

Just when you think a vehicle can't get any better, the 2022 BMW X5 significantly ups its game by introducing both a panoramic sunroof and rear air conditioning as standard features. This luxury midsize SUV already counts navigation, five USB ports, a 10-speaker stereo, wireless Apple CarPlay^® and Android Auto^™ connectivity, synthetic leather upholstery, a power liftgate, and keyless entry among its standard offerings. The added luxury makes the 2022 X5 even more enticing.

2. Black Vermilion trim

For the 2022 model year, BMW introduced a new trim: the limited-edition Black Vermilion X5. As the name suggests, this trim is mostly focused on a super-cool black-and-red color scheme. Most of its features are the same as those in the xDrive40i trim (the AWD base model), adding 22-inch wheels, an M Sport exhaust system and brakes, a red grille, black-and-red leather upholstery, and exclusive Frozen Black Metallic exterior paint. The Black Vermilion trim also boosts the luxury with a heated steering wheel, 16-speaker stereo system, and head-up display, among other additions.

3. High-end interior

As you'd expect from a luxury midsize SUV, the interior of the 2022 BMW X5 is filled with attractive features. Even the base model impresses, with synthetic leather upholstery, comfortable seating, and an intuitive infotainment system. Style-wise, the interior is sporty and minimalist without feeling cold. The soft materials that trim the surfaces and doors block out road and wind noise effectively, making every journey a peaceful one. Plus, the X5 offers a pleasant ride with crisp handling and adaptive suspension.

4. Appealing engine options

The 2022 BMW X5 has a 3.0L six-cylinder turbocharged engine as standard, which is both powerful and practical. The xDrive40i base AWD model gets an EPA-estimated 23 combined mpg and creates an impressive 335 hp.

 It also achieves zero to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds with ease, and generally offers fantastic performance (according to the manufacturer, when new). If you want something extra, the xDrive45e trim offers a plug-in hybrid version of the base engine, and the M50i and M trims have hyper-powerful V8 engines that achieve 523 hp and 600 hp, respectively.

5. Generous cargo space
