The 2026 Cadillac XT5 is the luxury brand’s midsize five-passenger crossover SUV, and it remains essentially unchanged from when it was introduced ten years ago. With styling similar to the smaller XT4 and three-row XT6, the XT5 features a premium interior with quality materials, although it is starting to show its age when compared to newer Cadillac models. The eight-inch infotainment display is small by modern luxury standards for midsize SUVs, though the XT5 features wireless Apple CarPlay®/Android Auto™, as well as a range of advanced driver-assist features. Power comes from either a turbocharged four-cylinder engine or a more powerful V6, and the XT5 is offered with front- or all-wheel drive.

First generation Cadillac XT5

When the XT5 arrived for the 2017 model year, it showcased Cadillac’s latest design language. The XT5 was larger than the SRX it replaced, boasting a more spacious interior for both passengers and cargo. High-quality cabin materials gave the new XT5 an upscale vibe, with leather seats available on the upper-level Platinum trim. All variants came with Cadillac’s in-house infotainment system with voice recognition, displayed on an eight-inch screen. Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ were standard across the board, and the XT5 could be upgraded with a rear-seat DVD entertainment system and navigation. Common advanced driver-assist features were available at launch, with most becoming standard in the 2020 XT5.

The Cadillac XT5 came to market with a 3.6-liter V6 engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive was standard, with available all-wheel drive. Cadillac added a turbocharged four-cylinder base engine in 2020, and both powertrains are available today.
