The 2020 Chevy Camaro is a capable performance car, combining strong engines with capable handling. For 2020, Chevy added a new trim level, further confusing an already complicated lineup. LS and LT models come standard with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The LT is split into three trim levels: 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT, ranging from a relatively basic car to a pretty fully loaded model. A 335-horsepower V6 is optional for LT trims. New for 2020 is an LT1 trim – different from the 1LT – which offers basic equipment with a 455-horsepower V8 engine. Above that are the increasingly well-equipped, V8-powered 1SS and 2SS, and the supercharged ZL1. The Camaro comes as a two-door coupe or convertible.
That alphanumeric jumble of trims can be hard to follow, but it really breaks down by how big an engine you want and how fancy you want your car’s options to be. Fortunately, even the base Camaro comes standard with quite a few desirable features. Unfortunately, nothing on the options sheet fixes the Camaro’s cramped rear seat, tiny trunk, or poor visibility.

Adds dual-zone automatic climate control, leather seats, and heated and ventilated front seats.
Adds Technology package as standard, as well as the Convenience and Lighting Package, which includes rear parking sensors and a heated steering wheel.
Includes the 6.2L V8 engine, engine oil cooler, Brembo® four-piston front brakes, mechanical limited-slip differential, and sports suspension.
Adds Brembo four-piston rear brakes, upgraded engine and transmission cooling, an upgraded 8-inch infotainment system, and a rear spoiler.
Combines features from 1SS and 3LT trim packages.
Adds a supercharged 6.2L V8 engine, launch control, six-piston Brembo brakes, Magnetic Ride Control suspension, Recaro sports seats, and more.
Performance: When it comes to performance, the Camaro punches above its weight. With quick acceleration from its V6 and V8 engines, the Camaro has plenty of grunt. When the road gets twisty, the Camaro’s capable handling and sharp steering have a chance to shine.
Ride Quality: The Camaro delivers a more comfortable ride than expected considering its mission. The available adaptive suspension is smooth over all sorts of road surfaces, and even the standard suspension does a good job. That helps the Camaro feel like a refined performance car.
Standard features: Standard features on the 1LS trim include a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a 7-inch touchscreen with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Higher trims have more performance and comfort features, but even a base Camaro offers some desirable features.
Usability: The Camaro might be lots of fun, but it has weaknesses that show in day-to-day life. It’s a difficult car to see out of, and it doesn’t have much space for people or things with its cramped back seat and tiny trunk. Also, Chevy packed in some controls in a way that makes them awkward to use.

Built on the same platform as the Challenger and sharing many of the same standard features and engine options, you can't go wrong with the Dodge Charger. Just like the Challenger, the base 3.6L-V6-powered 2019 SXT comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, a push-start ignition, remote start system, and automatic headlights with LED daytime running lights. On the inside of the 2019 Charger expect a six-way power adjustable driver seat with cloth seating, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a seven-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth® and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
The Dodge Challenger delivers the classic muscle car formula and has plenty of power where it counts. The 2017–2022 Challenger has a base 305-hp V6 (303 horsepower for 2021+) paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. A host of V8 engine options are offered for those who want more power. They range from 372 horsepower to an insane 808 horsepower. For added grip during bad weather, you can even find models with optional AWD.
Standard equipment across 2017–2022 Dodge Challenger models includes:
Dual-zone automatic climate control
Five-inch touchscreen (seven-inch for 2018–2022)
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration
Power driver's seat
The original “pony car," the Ford Mustang has reinvented itself over the years, becoming a surprisingly effective sports car. The 2015-present Mustang splits the difference between a muscle car and a sports car, with sports car nimbleness and a muscle car's everyday livable suspension and comfort. The base setup on 2015-present models is a 2.3L turbo four-cylinder engine, making an impressive 310 hp. Connected to a fun six-speed manual transmission, the Mustang only drives the rear wheels. The GT trim increases the firepower—the 460-hp 5.0L V8 is better with the stick, but the 10-speed automatic is faster and simply better in stop-and-go traffic.
The 2015-2020 Ford Mustang GT Performance Pack delivers:
19-inch wheels
15-inch front rotors and six-piston Brembo® calipers
Magnetorheological dampers
