The 2022 Chevrolet Spark is one of just a few compact hatchbacks still available. The two-door hatchback has outlasted the Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris and faces little competition for buyers looking for a vehicle that's small and inexpensive. The 2022 Spark didn't receive any changes of note, but even the base model comes with many standard features, albeit in bare-bones packaging.
To get power locks on the Spark, you need to step up to the 1LT trim that also grants power windows, mirrors and cruise control. But even on the base Spark, the LS trim, you get Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility and an 8-inch touchscreen. The top trim, 2LT, adds heated front seats, rear parking sensors and keyless entry along with ignition.
There's not much to differentiate the 2022 Spark from the previous two model years. It's a small, inexpensive hatchback whose weak four-cylinder engine is best suited for around-town driving. But it offers decent storage and rear seats that fold in a 60/40 split. With those seats folded down, you get competitive storage space.
Comfort: The Spark provides a reasonably comfortable ride compared to its rivals. It lacks some creature comforts, but the driver's seat is adjustable enough to find a comfortable seating position for long drives.
Interior: The interior of the Spark is small but functional. Controls for things like air conditioning are easy to reach and understand. Its high roofline makes getting in and out of the vehicle easy.
Tech: Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ come standard on the base trim, and the infotainment system is straightforward and easy to use. Upgrading to the 1LT trim gets you a better sound system and audio controls on the steering wheel.
Utility: The Spark offers less storage space than some of its rivals and getting the most out of its size requires the back seats to be folded down. There's limited small-item storage inside the vehicle.
