Interior details

The 2019 Spark is a four-door compact hatchback that seats four passengers. Cloth upholstery is standard for the LS and 1LT trims, with simulated leather upholstery standard on higher trims. Front-row bucket seats are standard across all trims.

Each row is equipped with two cup holders. The front and rear center consoles have good storage trays, and passenger legroom is comfortable, with 41.7 inches in the front row and 33 inches in the rear. Choose the ACTIV or 2LT trim for heated front seats.

The 2019 Spark has 11.1 cu-ft of fixed cargo storage. The 60/40-split rear-row folds down to reveal 27.2 cu-ft of available storage behind the front row.

Child seat details

The Chevrolet Spark has two complete sets of LATCH connectors (two lower anchors and an upper tether) for the rear-row seats. The anchor points are clearly indicated. The tether points are found at the very base of the seatback, but you can flip the seat forward to reach them using an easy-pull lever. All seat types are accommodated, though rear-facing car seats may affect front-row passenger legroom.

Performance

All 2019 Spark models are powered by a 1.4L four-cylinder engine that delivers 98 hp and 94 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive and a five-speed manual transmission are both standard. A continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) is an option across all trims.

The 2019 Chevrolet Spark has a top speed of 114 mph (according to the manufacturer, when new). All 1.4L 2019 Spark models get an EPA-estimated 33 mpg combined, with a single exception—the Spark ACTIV trim with manual transmission gets an EPA-estimated 32 mpg combined.

Year comparison

2013-2015 Chevrolet Spark (first generation)

Debuting as a brand-new model in 2013, the Spark is a welcome option for anyone seeking a stylish compact car. For 2014, continuously variable automatic transmission became an available option, and Chevrolet introduced an all-electric model (Spark EV).

2016-2022 Chevrolet Spark (second generation)

The Spark was fully redesigned for the start of the second generation in 2016. A more powerful engine, stylish exterior fascias, and more standard tech were added, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality. 2016 also marked the final year of the all-electric Spark EV. After two model years with no significant changes, the 2019 Spark gained a front-fascia refresh and an updated infotainment system. There were no significant changes for the 2020-2022 model years.
