5 reasons to buy the 2016 Ford Fiesta

1. Attractive engine lineup

The 2016 Ford Fiesta has two engine options, both designed to be balanced and versatile. The base engine is a 1.6L four-cylinder with 120 hp and 112 lb-ft of torque. It’s a small, yet lively engine that delivers a spirited performance. If you want more power, there is the turbocharged 1.6L four-cylinder with 197 hp and 202 lb-ft of torque, which comes with the performance-oriented Ford Fiesta ST trim. The standard engine can be paired with either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, whereas the turbocharged 1.6L only comes with the manual.

2. Good-looking exterior

Although it’s not a premium car, the 2016 Ford Fiesta still sports nice exterior styling that makes it look like one. The hatchback looks especially interesting and attractive, with an athletic profile and beautiful lines on both ends. It has an eye-catching arched roofline and swooping headlights, while the expansive front grille and low-lying bumper give it a serious, slightly aggressive stance.

3. Great mileage

If you're looking for frugal performance, the 2016 Fiesta delivers in this area, as well. This makes it suitable for urban areas with a lot of stop-and-go traffic or when you're eating up the miles during your commute. With the base 1.6L four-cylinder engine, it gets an EPA-estimated 30 mpg combined, a pretty competitive number by all standards.

4. Decent level of equipment

As far as technology is concerned, the 2016 Ford Fiesta has a decent number of features that come as standard and make sure passengers get the best possible experience. It comes with Ford’s Sync® infotainment system with voice controls, which is pretty intuitive and easy to use. It includes Bluetooth® connectivity, a USB port, and a six-speaker audio system as standard.

5. Practical storage area

Packing for road trips or completing your daily errands, are easy with the 2016 Ford Fiesta. It has a decently-sized trunk in both the sedan and hatchback body styles, with the latter slightly more spacious. It has 14.9 cu-ft of space in the trunk, with the total cargo volume measuring 25.4 cu-ft with the rear seats folded. The sedan, on the other hand, comes with a smaller, yet still useful trunk, offering 12.8 cu-ft of space.

Ratings & reliability

Customer ratings

The 2016 Ford Fiesta earns praise for its fuel efficiency, agile handling, and economical operating costs. However, it is often criticized for limited cargo space, cramped interiors, and chronic transmission issues. Its sporty driving dynamics make it ideal for urban commuters, though long-term reliability and comfort may disappoint.
