Balanced daily driver

Sporty handling and a welcoming interior with nice materials and plenty of standard features are among the most noteworthy qualities of the 2017 Ford Fiesta. On the inside, it has a functional cabin with numerous small-item storage options and wide, supportive seats. It comes with a stylish exterior on top of it, which is not always the case with subcompact daily drivers. Commendable engine power for a compact car that's not performance-oriented and a good manual transmission make the Fiesta fun to drive, too.

5 reasons to buy the 2017 Ford Fiesta

1. Great option for city driving

If you are looking for a car that can handle the challenges involved in driving in urban settings with lots of traffic and tight spaces, the 2017 Ford Fiesta is a good option. It’s a nimble subcompact car, so you can navigate tight parking spots and narrow streets without a problem.

2. Excellent engine options

Under the hood of the 2017 Ford Fiesta is a standard 1.6L four-cylinder engine that balances performance with frugality. It’s paired with a five-speed manual transmission and generates 120 hp and 112 lb-ft of torque. With this powertrain, the 2017 Fiesta goes from zero to 60 mph in 8.7 seconds, a respectable number for a subcompact car. The mileage the 2017 Ford Fiesta gets with this engine is an EPA-estimated 30 mpg combined.

3. Connectivity features

To keep passengers connected and entertained while on the road, numerous tech features come standard on the 2017 Ford Fiesta. It has the Sync® infotainment system with a 6.5-inch touchscreen, allowing you to control all your car's functions. Then, there is Bluetooth® connectivity and a USB port, along with a six-speaker stereo system.

4. Refined interior

In addition to the infotainment technology, the 2017 Ford Fiesta is equipped with a couple of amenities that raise the level of comfort even further. It comes with a height-adjustable driver’s seat, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, and 60/40-split folding rear seats. Also, there is standard air conditioning and remote keyless entry.

5. Plenty of room for cargo

On the utility side of things, the 2017 Ford Fiesta offers ample room for cargo in both the sedan and hatchback variants. The sedan comes with a 12.8-cu-ft trunk, which can easily accommodate a large suitcase and a carry-on bag, among other items. The hatchback is more spacious when it comes to storage, with 14.9 cu-ft of cargo capacity behind the rear seats, and a total volume of 25.4 cu-ft with those seats folded.

The 2017 Ford Fiesta offers strong fuel efficiency and sporty handling, but trade-offs include cabin noise and limited interior space. It’s a budget-friendly, reliable choice, though some issues with power, comfort, and technology were noted. Best for economy-minded drivers valuing practicality and spirited driving.
