What is new for the 2017 Ford Taurus?

  • Taurus trims have been upgraded with Rear Seat Heaters, Heated Steering Wheel, Rear Sunshade, Blind Spot Monitor, Leather & Suede Seats, Bluetooth Technology, Sony Sound System, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto as standard equipment this year.

5 reasons to buy the 2017 Ford Taurus

1. Handy driving features

We can all use a little help when navigating busy highways and bustling city streets. The 2017 Ford Taurus lends a hand with its traction control, stability control, and rearview camera as standard. The SEL, Limited, and SHO trims also gain rear parking sensors. If you select a Limited trim with the Driver Assist package you gain adaptive cruise control that keeps pace with the flow of traffic, an automated parallel parking system, and a lane departure warning.

2. Flaunts modern tech

Inside the 2017 Ford Taurus, you'll admire a suite of handy electronics. On the base SE trim you'll enjoy the rearview camera, Sync® voice controls, a 4.2-inch display screen, Bluetooth® phone and audio connectivity, a six-speaker sound system, and two USB ports. Choose the SEL trim to gain available remote start and available satellite radio.

If the SEL has the Equipment Group 201A package, you'll also enjoy keyless entry/ignition and the upgraded Sync 3 system with an eight-inch display.

3. Three engine options

The 2017 Ford Taurus features a 3.5L V6 standard, the new turbocharged 3.5L V6 (SHO trim only), or an EcoBoost® 2.0L four-cylinder (optional on SE, SEL front-wheel drives, and Limited trims). The V6 and four-cylinder engines come with front-wheel drive standard, with all-wheel drive as an option. If you live in a climate with snowy winters or a long rainy season, consider all-wheel drive. The turbocharged V6 in the SHO trim features all-wheel drive standard.

4. Wonderful comfort options

If you're going to spend hours in your 2017 Ford Taurus each day, why not have all the cozy bells and whistles? Six-way power-adjustable front seats with lumbar support come standard. If you select a Limited trim, you can sink into the heated/ventilated front seats, enjoy driver-seat memory settings, have heated seats in the rear (great for a pet passenger!), and enjoy a premium Sony™ sound system.

5. High-performance SHO trim

If you're traversing cross-country interstates and want a sedan that dominates the open road, the 2017 Ford Taurus has spirit. Under the hood is a turbocharged 3.5L V6 that cranks out 365 hp. The SHO manages zero to 60 in 5.8 seconds, according to an Edmunds driving test. That's not too shabby for a classic family car. The SHO also features a sport-tuned suspension for an even smoother ride and steering-wheel-mounted shifting paddles.
