The 2019 Infiniti Q60 is an attractive two-door sport coupe with a powerful turbocharged engine

Infiniti has had at least one coupe in its lineup for years, but now the luxury brand is down to just one option: the Q60. The Q60 was introduced in 2017 when it replaced the G37 Coupe, and it carries the same sporty design into the 2019 model year. There are significant changes for the new model year: The Q60 is no longer offered with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, and all models get the powerful 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6. Automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection and predictive forward collision warning have been made standard on the Luxe and Red Sport variants. The 2019 Infiniti Q60 comes standard with rear-wheel drive, but all variants are available with the rear-biased Infiniti Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system. Three trims are available: 3.0t Pure, 3.0t Luxe, and the more powerful Red Sport 400. All variants are fitted with premium materials, and while the front seats are comfortable and spacious, the rear seat is almost too small to be used except when absolutely necessary.

5 reasons to buy the 2019 Infiniti Q60

What We Like

Interior: Infiniti does a nice job of combining performance and luxury in the Q60. High-end materials are used throughout the cabin, and the high-back sport seats are comfortable with side and thigh bolsters that provide good support, especially during enthusiastic driving. Seats can be trimmed in stylish semi-aniline leather, while the cabin is trimmed in aluminum or genuine carbon fiber in the Red Sport 400.

Driving: With a minimum of 300 horsepower on tap and maximum torque available at a low 1,600 rpm, the Q60 always has power available and is quick off the line. While the all-wheel-drive model provides better grip, the rear-wheel-drive Q60 feels well balanced, with predictable handling and precise steering. With its added power, enhanced suspension, and bigger brakes, the Q60 Red Sport is even more impressive on twisty roads or in a straight line.

Driver-assist tech: Infiniti offers a wide range of advanced driver-assist features in the Q60. The driver-assist systems include forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure prevention, blind-spot intervention, backup collision intervention, and intelligent cruise control with distance control assist. For added convenience when maneuvering in tight spaces, the Q60 is available with an Around View monitor, which simulates a camera view from above the vehicle.

What Needs Improvement

Utility: The Infiniti Q60 may make a great road trip car, but there’s not much space to bring luggage. The trunk only has 8.7 cubic feet of space, which is small even for a sport coupe. Since the rear seat is practically too small for passengers, it could serve as an alternative cargo space.
