The 2020 Infiniti Q60 Coupe is the only two-door offered by Nissan’s premium brand. Introduced for the 2017 model year, the Q60 has a style that remains unchanged, but there are a number of feature updates for the 2020 model year. Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are standard on all trim levels. Infiniti has introduced an updated dual-screen infotainment system with Wi-Fi hotspot and an illuminated USB-C port. To commemorate the brand’s 30th anniversary, Infiniti offers an Edition 30 package for the Q60 that features dark chrome accents, special dark-finish wheels, and black maple wood interior trim. Available with rear- or all-wheel drive, the Q60 is offered in three trim levels: Pure, Luxe, and the high-performance Red Sport 400. The Q60’s twin-turbo V6 engine produces 300 horsepower in the Pure and Luxe, bumping up to 400 horsepower for the Red Sport 400. While the interior has all the trimmings of a luxury sport coupe, the overall design looks a bit dated compared to competitors like the Audi A5, BMW 4 Series, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
Performance: Not only does the Q60 look like a high-performance sports coupe, but it also has the power to back up those looks. Even the base-level Q60 has a twin-turbo V6 engine that puts out a plentiful 300 horsepower; for those who want a bit more oomph, the Red Sport 400 ups the power to 400 horses. The Q60 is quick off the line with either output, and power is delivered smoothly via a seven-speed automatic transmission. (No manual gearbox is offered.)
Interior: While the interior design may look a bit dated, it still has a premium vibe with high-quality materials throughout the cabin. The Q60 can be fitted with heated leather-trimmed seats, a heated steering wheel, and a high-end Bose® audio system, depending on the trim level. Available aluminum or black carbon-fiber trim materials add to the premium feel.
Driver-assist tech: The Infiniti Q60 is available with a wide range of advanced high-tech driver-assist features. With its optional suite of driver aids, the Q60 can be equipped with an Around View monitor, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure prevention, blind-spot intervention, and backup collision intervention.
Infotainment: Infiniti updated the Q60’s dual-screen infotainment system for the 2020 model year. While it now has Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ standard, it is still not the most intuitive system on the market. Both screens can be operated via touch, but the upper screen can also be operated via a rotary controller on the center console, which can be confusing. A single larger screen like those used by the Q60’s competitors would be more intuitive.
