The 2021 Infiniti Q60 is one of the last passenger cars in the Infiniti lineup as the luxury brand transitions to all SUVs. A high-performance two-door coupe, the Q60 seats four and is available with rear- or all-wheel drive. Introduced for the 2017 model year, the Q60 comes into 2021 with only minor changes, including more standard features for the Luxe trim and advanced climate control with an air purifier for the top-level Red Sport 400. Infiniti offers the Q60 in three trim levels: Pure, Luxe, and Red Sport 400. Power comes from a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that makes 300 horsepower in the Pure and Luxe but bumps up to 400 horsepower in the aptly named Red Sport 400. With a stylish exterior design, even the base-level Pure comes well equipped with a long list of standard features.
Performance: Unlike much of the competition, the Infiniti Q60 comes standard with a 300-horsepower twin-turbo V6, delivering impressive acceleration and power. Upgrading to the Red Sport 400 takes the performance up a notch with a sport suspension, stickier tires, and bigger brakes. No manual gearbox is available, but the seven-speed automatic works well. All trims come standard with rear-wheel drive or can be equipped with all-wheel drive for better all-weather performance.
Interior: It may be a performance coupe, but the interior is all about luxury. Seats can be trimmed in semi-aniline leather, accented by brushed aluminum trim or genuine carbon-fiber accents on the Red Sport 400. The front seats are comfortable with nice bolstering for good support; however, rear passengers will find the space tight with little legroom. An available Bose® Performance Series audio system with 13 speakers and active noise cancellation adds to the luxury surroundings.
Driver-assist tech: Infiniti offers the Q60 with its optional suite of advanced driver-assist features. It includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure prevention, blind-spot intervention, and backup collision intervention. For 2021 all variants come standard with automatic collision notification with emergency call.
Infotainment: The Infiniti Q60 features a dual-screen infotainment system that can be difficult to figure out. Both screens can be operated via touch, but the upper screen can also be operated via a rotary controller on the center console. A single larger screen like those used by the Q60’s competitors would be more intuitive.
RepairPal gave the Infiniti Q60 an overall reliability rating of 4 out of 5 stars, which RepairPal describes as Above Average. This rating ranks Infiniti Q60 21st out of 68 among Luxury Midsize Cars.
