The Jaguar XF delivers a unique blend of comfort and sportiness
It’s not the fastest or the fanciest midsize luxury sedan, but the 2020 Jaguar XF offers a compelling blend of sporty handling, a comfortable ride, and a spacious cabin with very supportive seats. That it’s all wrapped in a handsomely designed package that stands out from rivals, including the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series, is an added bonus.
While Jaguar would be more than happy to lead the sales pack among these and other competitors, the XF’s rarity can be considered a strength for luxury-car shoppers looking for something outside the norm. Powering the base XF is a 247-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission. This engine is also offered with 296 horsepower and, for even more kick, a 380-hp supercharged V6 comes with the range-topping S trim. All-wheel drive is optional with the turbo-four and standard with the V6.
Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are now standard features, as are front and rear parking sensors.

What We Like
Ride and handling: The Jaguar XF is the kind of sedan that reminds you to have some fun while behind the wheel. True to Jaguar tradition, the XF has accurate steering that’s nicely balanced with a firm but well-controlled suspension. Comfortable enough for a daily commute, the XF also thrives on tight and twisty roads.
Smartphone connectivity: Having Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard is a major tech boost for the XF. These smartphone features are hugely important to car shoppers and they make the infotainment system much more intuitive and accommodating.
Roomy cabin and trunk: The cabin of the XF features supportive front and rear seats, not to mention generous amounts of headroom and legroom. You can even get three adults in the second row, so long as the trip is short and everyone is on friendly terms. The generously sized trunk measures in at around 19 cubic feet. The Sportback wagon nudges capacity to an SUV-rivaling 31 cubic feet.
What Needs Improvement
Cabin quality: We appreciate the amount of space inside the XF, but wish there was a little more quality and panache in terms of its build and design. Some of the interior materials simply don’t live up to this Jaguar’s billing as a posh and fun-to-drive luxury sedan.
