2015 Kia Optima Hybrid review

1. Comfortable ride 

Thanks in part to the hybrid powertrain, the ride of the Optima Hybrid is a serene one. Available acoustic laminated glass also makes for a quieter cabin while cruising. The steering isn't too heavy and the suspension soaks up the bumps without being floaty like a boat. Combine this with the frugal performance and you’ll have a vehicle that coddles you while cruising long distances. 

2. Interior appointments 

Standard dual-zone climate controls, available heated and ventilated front seats, available heated rear seats, and available panoramic glass sunroof are just some of the touches that make the interior of the 2015 Kia Optima Hybrid feel upscale. The interior's contemporary design has aged well since its introduction. An available heated steering wheel will also keep your hands warm when it's cold outside. 

3. Entertainment options 

Standard infotainment duty is left up to a small 4.3-inch color screen, but the available eight-inch color touchscreen with navigation is more in line with modern offerings. Available entertainment goodies include an eight-speaker Infinity^® sound system with HD Radio and SiriusXM^™ connectivity. Other tech features include a USB port for device charging, push-button vehicle ignition, and Bluetooth^® connectivity. 

4. Hybrid powertrain 

The 199-hp gas-electric hybrid system, which powers the front wheels, offers frugal performance for around-town errands and trips further afield. Two trims offer two different wheel sizes which impact overall fuel economy. Base LX models wear 16-inch wheels and carry an EPA-estimated 40 mpg highway, while EX trims sacrifice 1 mpg for larger 17-inch wheels.
