5 reasons to buy the 2014 Lexus GX 460

1. A smart appearance

Purely because of its size, you can’t miss this big seven-seat SUV, but new LED headlights, and available LED fog lights make the 2014 Lexus GX 460 look sharper than ever before. New fascias front and rear evoke a strong style, and the bold grille and clear taillights will certainly get you noticed. Chrome accents add a classy touch, and standard running boards hint at the 2014 GX 460’s off-road ability.

2. Feature-rich trims

Lexus has loaded up the GX 460 with lots of standard features that are sure to impress. The base GX trim includes a power sunroof, rear privacy glass, roof rails, climate control, 10-way front seat power adjustments, and an eight-inch color touchscreen audio system with USB integration, Bluetooth® connectivity, and a rearview camera. Choose the available Premium package for parking sensors, a navigation system, heated and ventilated front seats, and heated second-row outboard seats. Select Luxury trim for power fold-flat third-row seats, and adaptive suspension with rear auto-leveling.

3. An upscale cabin

Step inside the GX 460 and you’ll find an upscale cabin that will cocoon you and your passengers in a luxurious ambience. A mix of soft-touch materials, and metallic and standard or available wood finishes – even on the steering wheel – lend an upmarket air. This is made more prestigious by the perforated leather seats available on the base trim (they're standard on the Luxury trim).

4. Seating for seven

Whether you’re dropping off the kids at breakfast club or taking the family on a camping trip, the Lexus GX 460 will accommodate everyone and their stuff. There are seven seats, and the third row is accessed easily by the tilt and slide operation of the second row. On those occasions when the third row isn’t needed, the available power operation automatically folds them flat at the touch of a button to liberate more cargo space. With both rear seat rows up, there is 11.6 cu-ft of luggage space. Fold them both down, and there is 64.7 cu-ft.

5. Big towing ability

For those rare times when you’ve run out of interior space or you need to haul heavier loads, the GX 460 can take it all in its stride. The engine’s low-end torque – or pulling power – and truck-like body-on-frame construction help the Lexus GX 460 to tow an estimated 6,500 lbs with the V8, when properly equipped.

What’s more, the standard Trailer Sway Control system is always monitoring various sensors in the car when you’re hitched up to a trailer to help prevent or manage unwelcome trailer movement.
