The Ram 2500, formerly known as the Dodge Ram 2500, was fully redesigned for 2019, and comprehensively improved – as long as you like power, technology, and comfort. On the outside, the Ram got a lighter body and stronger frame, a more powerful standard V8 engine, and a new optional turbocharged diesel engine. This new engine gives the 2500 a max towing capacity of almost 20,000 pounds, when properly equipped. Various factors may impact towing capacity, including weight of passengers, cargo, and options/accessories. Both a 6-foot 4-inch short bed and 8-foot-long bed are offered. Inside, the cabin has improved comfort and ergonomics, along with more upscale materials on higher trims. A 12-inch infotainment screen is available, along with a surround-view camera system and a full suite of driver aids, including adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring. Inside and out, the 2019 Ram 2500 is thoroughly more modern than 2018 models.

Strong engine choices: For 2019, the redesigned Ram 2500 upped the ante on power. The Ram’s base gasoline V8 makes 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. The new optional turbocharged diesel engine makes an impressive 850 lb-ft of torque and offers massive towing and hauling potential.
Excellent comfort: Ram made a lot of changes to upgrade the Ram 2500’s comfort: an improved cabin with more upscale materials on higher trim levels, plush and supportive seats, redesigned suspension, and more sound insulation with active noise cancellation. The redesigned 2500 is a top pick for comfort in the heavy-duty segment.
Impressive tech features: Ram packed the redesigned 2500 with modern tech. You can get a 12-inch touchscreen, full cell-phone integration, a complete set of driver aids including adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring, and a surround-view camera system.
Diesel engine noise: The Ram 2500’s optional turbocharged diesel engine is powerful and capable, but it creates noticeable vibration through the steering wheel and pedals, and an intrusive droning noise at freeway speeds. Considering the work Ram did to tame noise in the 2500’s cabin, the diesel engine’s soundtrack stands out more than it might in a less quiet truck.
